Call of Duty Fixes Issue With Hit List Event

Key Takeaways

  • Treyarch has fixed the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Hit List event issue with capped eliminations.
  • Eliminations play a vital role in unlocking rewards, including a Weapon Charm and Calling Card.
  • Despite the backend counting accurately, the display was fixed swiftly, hinting at prompt issue resolutions.

After an investigation, Treyarch has resolved an issue with the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Hit List event that was affecting its elimination count. Eliminations are a key component of the Hit List event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and they should be displayed properly after a developer investigation.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Hit List event began on November 21, and it’s set to run until December 4. The event tasks players with earning eliminations in Warzone, Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, and Zombies to unlock Skulls, which can be exchanged for rewards like a Weapon Charm and Calling Card. Hit List also includes community rewards when massive milestones are reached, with the pinnacle of it being the Sirin 9MM Secondary Weapon that unlocks at 50 billion cumulative eliminations. Call of Duty has resolved an issue with how these eliminations were displayed after a brief investigation.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Have Some Problems With Prop Hunt

Some Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players highlight key problems with the Prop Hunt game mode introduced with the release of Season 1.

The CODUpdates Twitter account recently shared a post highlighting a problem with the Hit List event that was being investigated. According to the tweet, Hit List eliminations appeared to be capped at 25 billion despite the backend code revealing the true number. Because the backend continued to track the correct stats, no progress was impacted as the issue was investigated. Along with the announcement, CODUpdates also included a Black Ops 6 Trello board revealing some rarely-seen details. The Trello board reveals that a fix has been released, while other listed known issues include mantling speed being slower than intended, the Dark Ops Calling Card not displaying correctly, and melee weapon issues in Black Ops 6 custom classes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Hit List Event Issue Has Been Resolved

As the issue was seemingly posted just a few hours before the fix, this Hit List adjustment may hint at how quickly Treyarch can resolve event-related problems. Because the elimination count was stuck at 25B, the community has exceeded 25 billion, which surpassed the requirement for the Hand Cannon Scorestreak. As it was stuck at 25B for some time, players may have also unlocked the next phase of the event rewards, the Veteran Perk. With the event continuing into December and because of how much progress has already been made, it seems likely that every community Black Ops 6 Hit List reward will be unlocked.

While the Hit List issue has seemingly been resolved, it appears to have been adjusted in a hotfix as players weren’t issued an update. As Treyarch continues to update Black Ops 6, the other listed known issues will likely be resolved in a future patch.
