The SVD is one of three sniper rifles available at launch in Black Ops 6 and is currently the only semi-auto option. Shots from the upper torso and above are a one-hit kill, making this a powerful option for more aggressive snipers who want more leeway than a traditional bolt-action rifle.

While the SVD is quite strong in Multiplayer, this weapon truly shines in Zombies thanks to some unique Pack-A-Punch quirks. Today, we’ll be looking at two builds that maximize the SVD’s usefulness in both game types, showcasing one build for MP camo grinding and another for high round pushes in Zombies.
Multiplayer SVD Build

This SVD build is tuned for completing camo challenges for Multiplayre, specifically Special camo challenges. We use the Dobrych 4x optic to complete the Patchwork camo challenge, while we use a Suppressor to stay off enemy radar to make the most out of the Recon camo challenge. If you need a more general sniper setup, we suggest dropping the Suppressor for a Muzzle Brake instead, as this will greatly reduce the gun’s initial recoil.
As for improving the gun’s usability, you’ll want a Target Laser to delay ADS idle sway as much as possible. This fixes the issue where your ADS reticle is sometimes misaligned as you start aiming. A Heavy Stock mitigates most incoming recoil, and a Quickdraw Riser helps with quickly aiming down sights in a gunfight.

One of the camo challenges for the SVD requires you to use the Recon specialty, so that’s what we’ll be recommending. Equip Ghost to stay off enemy radar, Tracker to mark targets mid-gunfight in case they run away, and Vigilance to ignore enemy CUAVs. For your Perk Greed option, pick Flak Jacket to resist enemy explosives or Ninja to muffle your footsteps.

In Zombies, the SVD turns into a sniper/shotgun hybrid when Pack-A-Punched. You’ll want a decent hipfire spread to utilize the shotgun pattern, so we suggest running a Steady Aim Laser to tighten your hipfire pellet spread. For ADS, you’ll want any red dot optic and the Quickdraw Riser to hasten up your ADS speed.
That’s all you need for this weapon to perform well, but if you want to max out your attachment slots, you have a few good options:
- Ranger Foregrip: Greatly improves your sprint speed.
- Recoil Springs: Mitigates visual shake while firing.
- Infiltrator Stock: Buffs your strafe speed while aiming, and stacks with Stamin-Up’s Stalker augment.
- Extended Mag I: Larger magazine, reducing reload frequency.
- Suppressor: Zombies are more likely to spawn Salvage.
