While she’s got powerful attacks and a variety of ways to approach all enemy types, you’ll be surprised by how she works depending on how far you are into the 18 minutes you get in each chapter. She’s very different to the other characters in the game, and you’ll quickly work out why.
Scarlet’s Two Forms Explained
The main reason Scarlet stands out is because she has two distinct forms. During the day, she’s in Human form, attacking with quick swipes and a special that throws a bomb that explodes after a few seconds.
At night, she turns into a hulking monster and lurches around slowly. While the main attacks are the same, Scarlet becomes slower and her special attack becomes a leaping slam that deals damage more immediately than the human form bomb.
Scarlet transforms three times in each chapter.
You need to approach combat differently in each form. You can be much more aggressive in monster form, but can take advantage of Scarlet’s increased speed when in human form.
Scarlet Tips
The best way to play as Scarlet is to focus on her Power and Special attacks, finding upgrades and consumables that reduce the cooldown for both of them.
Then, you can quickly jump in and out of the fight with a combination of Power swipes and ranged special attacks. Most enemies are much more dangerous up close than at range, so staying away from them will ensure you’re not wasting revive feathers.
As your Scarlet gets stronger, you can be more aggressive with your attacks.
If you stagger enemies with your ranged attacks, you can then get closer to use your standard attacks and do a lot of damage in a short period of time.

After using your Power, the next Attack within three second is a flurry of five slashes with 20% increased damage. This allows you to do massive damage in short time, and is even better if you can deal Vulnearable to enemies beforehand. |

Wide Attacks |
Attack gains 40 percent range and deals 20% damage. Makes your standard attack in both forms much more useful, and gets more powerful as upgraded. |

Double Strike |
The Attack done right after a Dash triggers a double strike, dealing 400% damage and generating one Combo Point. |
