Stalker 2 Players Think Bloodsuckers Are Too Easy Now

Stalker 2 Developer Outlines First Patch Details

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl players all agree that the game is a buggy mess right now, but that hasn’t changed the fact that they love it. It seems the right way to cope with all the bugs, besides performance mods and vendor exploits, is to imagine that they are all anomalies. In fact, some have even leveraged bugged anomalies to their advantage.

This isn’t your average open world game.

However, there are some things that can’t be ignored, like the game’s missing A-Life system. While GSC Game World has committed to addressing the issues, there are some things even that may not solve. Other than bugs, one of the biggest problems players have with the game is how Bloodsuckers aren’t as terrifying and menacing as in previous installments.

Stalker 2 Fans Want Bloodsuckers To Be Scarier

Coming across a Bloodsucker in the earlier Stalker games was absolutely chilling. It had an eerie aura about it, and the atmosphere and sound effects would make the encounter even more terrifying. Unfortunately, many Stalker 2 players feel the Bloodsuckers have lost their edge, and feel like run-of-the-mill tougher enemies.

Redditor falcon_buns made a post on Reddit about their first ever encounter with a Bloodsucker in Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. They described the eeriness that the creature emanates, further amplified with sound design and the environment. They concluded by saying that the way Heart of Chornobyl introduces the creature does not have the same effect, especially for newer players. They aren’t as terrifying and feel easier to kill.

“They did a fallout 4 making you face one of the most iconic and scary enemies of the franchise in the first 10 min of the game,” said one of the comments. “And then spam it all over the map but maybe it’s a bug”.

Elsewhere on Reddit, IcyBall1800 revealed that they encountered seven Bloodsuckers within a span of 15 minutes, and that they’ve killed more of them than Board or Fleshes. “They’re just fodder now, that special status they once held is gone completely,” they said.

“Also consider that fighting something frequently makes you very practiced at it,” noted one comment. The difficulty in fighting a bloodsucker is thus hampered by fighting them regularly.

It’s unfortunate that newcomers to the series won’t know just how scared of Bloodsuckers the community has been all these years. Perhaps the frequent spawns are a result of the broken A-Life system, and will be less of an issue once fixed.
