While 2024 has been a relatively dry year for the Power Rangers franchise, Hasbro and developer Digital Eclipse announced Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, a retro-style beat-em-up starring the original Teenagers with Attitude, during June’s 2024 Summer Games Fest.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind features all the side-scrolling action and pixel artwork of the classic Power Rangers beat-em-ups of the mid-90s with a few modern twists like 3D Megazord battles and rail shooter segments. The plot of the game also ties into last year’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Once and Always reunion special, with the evil Robo Rita going back in time to assist her past self in destroying the Rangers once and for all. With not much else planned for the legendary franchise for the foreseeable future, Power Rangers fans are naturally excited to jump into Rita’s Rewind when it launches on December 10.

At PAX West 2024, Game Rant went hands-on with Digital Eclipse’s arcade take on the Power Rangers, Rita’s Rewind.

Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind won’t be released for the Nintendo Switch on the previously announced launch date. Earlier this week, developer Digital Eclipse revealed that the Switch version of Rita’s Rewind has been “slightly delayed” until December 19, 2024 due to “unforeseen” circumstances.
