The exploration in Natlan’s exploration definitely stands out compared to other regions in Genshin Impact due to the presence of Saurians. They took the fun of exploring the lands up a notch, as you can indwell Saurians to traverse across Natlan.

Each Saurian has some unique abilities that you can use to travel all around Natlan quickly. There are three Saurians that you can find and indwell in Natlan. It will take much longer to reach a few areas in Natlan, if you aren’t using these Saurians to your advantage.

How To Indwell Saurians

There are three Saurians found in Natlan that Travelers can Indwell. You can recognize Tepetlisaurus from its brown rocky body. Koholasaurus is a shark-like Saurian residing in water. Yumkasaurus are swift Saurians with a green body and a long tongue.

You need Phlogiston energy to use Saurian’s ability. If you run out of it, it is a good idea to switch your Saurian.

To Indwell any Saurian, you have to go near it till a mark called a Spritsconce appears, which indicates that it can be possessed. You will see a glowing mark button on the screen which you can press to become a Saurian. Controls may vary if you are playing Genshin Impact on a different platform.

How To Stop Indwelling A Saurian

To stop Indwelling a Saurian, you need to keep holding the eject button till you leave its body. When you are out, you will notice that the Saurian Indwelling Mark is still there. You can indwell the same Saurian with this mark again.

This strategy can be helpful if you want to switch out multiple Saurians in any place.

Teptlisaurus Usage And Abilities

Teptlisaurus is a Geo Saurian that can help you climb up the mountains quickly, saving you a lot of time and effort. If you interact with a Molten Fissure, the Teptlisaurus will automatically take you to a spot where the Fissure ends. This can help you reach many more areas during exploration.

Teptlisaurus ability can also allow it to remain buried in the ground while you keep moving forward. You can also leap from the ground by pressing the jump button. Teptlisaurus can also break obstacles and deal damage with its basic attack.

You can also use a Tepltisaurus to complete specific puzzles. If you see a rock with a glowing mark, you can interact with it to start the puzzle, then you have to look for round dusty areas on the ground. Bury your way into the ground with his ability, and then use a basic attack while you are in the circle till you activate them all to get a Luxurious Chest as a reward.

Yumkasaurus Usage And Abilities

Yumkasaurus are Dendro Saurians that are most prevalent in the Scions of The Canopy region. Indwelling them during exploration can be very helpful as there are different ways to use them.

Yumkasaurus can help you jump from one cliff to another with their skill. It brings out their sticky long tongue that clings to surfaces. You can either use the skill by pressing its ability button to cling to anything in front of you or hold the button to aim at an area close to you. Yumkasaurus can also walk up the walls vertically for a short distance.

You will find many Coilgrass Sigils that can be used to travel across places if you aim Yumkasaurus’ ability at the Sigil. You may even find some special Coilgrass Sigils that are colored green. You can interact with them to make Leaves of Repose, which are platforms that can help you reach other areas.

Some Spores of Repose will also get attached to you, which can let you make more Leaf of Repose platforms when you jump.

Yumkasaurus can also deal a lot of damage to nearby enemies if you store a Flamagranate in its mouth. You can move around with a bomb in your mouth, and then explode it on the enemies to deal Pyro damage. Yumkasaurus can also inflict Dendro damage with its basic attack.

Yumkasaurus can also hold relay balls in its mouth that you can shoot at platforms to activate them. Make sure that the color of the ball and the platform is the same for it to work.

Koholasaurus Usage And Abilities

Koholasaurus is a Hydro Saurian that lets you swim across the water areas in Natlan. It can jump to a great height using the ringed vortexes known as Jet Set Eddies. The jump will let you reach other areas that are high up near the water.

Koholasaurus can also help you use the Spiritways consisting of flowing Phlogiston, which will take you from one place to another quickly. These Saurians can also perform a dash that lets you travel rapidly while you are swimming. Make sure that the Spiritways are activated so you can traverse using them.

You may find some challenges in the water that Koholasaurus can help you with. If you see a round ball above the water, activate it to start the test, you will be then prompted to collect some particles using a Koholasaurus’ abilities.

Iktomisaurus Usage And Abilities

Iktomisaurus is a bat like Saurian that you can use to reach great heights rapidly. Using its strong wings, it can dash vertically towards the sky, which will help you reach higher ground during exploration. They can also deal Cryo damage with their skills.

Iktomisaurus are also helpful in solving certain puzzles, as you can conjure up objects or Graffiti by collecting hidden Phlogiston during their Spiritspeaker state. This can allow you to pass through specific areas which you may be unable to access otherwise.

Iktomisaurus can jump even higher if you
collect a Spiritstone
by attacking it with its skills.

Qucusaurus Usage And Abilites

Indwelling a Qucusaurus will help you soar high above the sky. It makes exploration much more convenient, as you can go almost anywhere provided that you have enough Phlogiston. You will find some boosters called Scorchwind Conflux, which you can collect to quickly recharge your Phlogiston and fly continuously.

Qucusaurus glides like any other normal character, but using its abilities, you can ascend to places that are harder to reach by climbing or other means. You can also plunge by quickly descending to the ground. If you dash into the sky, Qucusaurus will fly much faster.

Qucusaurus are also able to explore areas with Gaseoues Phlogiston without being affected by burns. These gases also generate wind currents that you can hop on with your Qucusaurus. You will also come across Phlogiston Wind Tunnels, which you can enter to quickly travel from one place to the other.
