Bloons Card Storm is a collectible card strategy title and the latest installment in the beloved Bloons series, developed by Ninja Kiwi. In this Bloons Card Storm Beginners Guide, I will share with you some helpful tips and tricks to get you started and elevate your gameplay experience.

In Bloons Card Storm, you can team up with the iconic Monkeys and Bloons from the franchise, create wild strategies, build a strong card collection, and assemble powerful decks to dominate both single-player and PvP battles. Bloons Card Storm Gameplay Overview

Bloons Card Storm is a highly competitive strategic card battle title, that can be very challenging right from the start. It takes quite some time to understand the basics and how everything functions. However, if you go through this guide, you can skip that learning phase, gain a clear overview of the game, get useful tips and tricks, and improve your gameplay experience.

In the game, you face off against your enemies in turn-based card battles. The main objective of the game is to reduce your opponent hero’s HP to zero to win your match. You can select or create your deck with one of the heroes, consisting of 40 cards per deck. Do note that the game allows three copies of each card, except the Unique Cards.

Coming to gameplay, each match begins with both of you and your enemy drawing your starting hand, with the option to redraw the cards. If you get the first turn, you will start with three cards, while your opponent will have four cards. You can have 8 cards and 20 gold at any given time, and you build up Bloontonium when you use the Bloon cards.

You can use it to activate the hero’s active and passive abilities. It’s important to note that your Bloon cards have turn delays, meaning that they don’t deal damage until their delay reaches zero. This delay decreases with each turn or through other power cards. As I mentioned before, you need to drop your enemy’s HP to zero or in negative digits to win the match. The game is very challenging though and it took me some time to fully grasp everything and it is not as easy as it looks.

The game offers many different game modes, such as the Duel mode, where you can battle against other players, the Adventure mode, where you can enjoy a single-player experience, and the custom game modes. You will find Tutorials and Training in the Adventure Mode, along with Amelia’s Prologue and her Adventure.

Collection

In the card collection section, you will find your cards and decks. It features different types of cards, with different rarities, gold costs, attacks, and other stats, along with all the four heroes present in the game. You get Quincy and Gwendolin heroes for free, along with their starter decks after completing Tutorials. You can also create your decks by selecting a hero and adding cards that go with your strategy.

Monkeys, Bloons, and Power

You will get to use three types of cards in the game: Bloons, Monkey, and Power Cards. You can use them to attack your opponent, defend against incoming Bloons, and activate special effects, that can shift the momentum of the match.

Bloon cards are offensive cards and can have additional effects, which are your main source of attacks. You build up Bloontonium when you use the Bloon cards, which you can use to activate your Hero’s abilities. Monkey cards, on the other hand, are used for defense, and you can use them to counter your opponent’s Bloons.

Each card has three key stats: Attack stats, Ammo Stats, and Reload stats. To deal damage to your enemy Bloons, you need to drag your Monkey’s attack toward them. You may not like the dragging mechanics though. And, Power Cards are used for special effects that open the door to various strategic plays. You can use these cards to damage enemy bloons, monkeys, or heroes, heal your hero or bloons, and for other effects.

Heroes

The game features a roster of heroes, including Quincy, Gwendolin, Amelia the Amazing, and Obyn Greenfoot. Each hero has unique abilities and the same amount of HP, and you can use them strategically to lower your opponent hero’s HP. Three of these heroes are from the Bloons TD 6 title. Every hero has three abilities, 2 active abilities, and 1 passive ability.

1. Quincy

Quincy has three abilities: Arrow Shot, Perceptive Shot, and Flurry of Arrows. Arrow Shot costs 3 Bloontonium and deals 30 damage to a single bloon you choose. Whereas Perceptive Shot is a passive ability, that triggers automatically when you have 6 Bloontonium and deals 10 damage to every enemy bloon that spawns. Lastly, Flurry of Arrows is the second active ability and acts like an ultimate, costing 9 Bloontonium, it deals 50 damage to all enemy bloons available on the map.

2. Gwendolin

Gwendolin has the Fireball, Heat it Up, and Flame Strike abilities and his last ability is the costliest. Fireball is an active ability that costs 5 Bloontonium and sets any bloon you target on fire and they take 30 damage per turn.

Heat It Up is a passive ability, which increases the damage of your Monkeys by 5 when you have 10 Bloontonium. Flame Strike is the costliest ability among all the heroes, costing 20 Bloontonium to use, but it is very useful as it sets all enemy bloons on fire, and any bloons that are already on fire will receive 200 damage instead.

3. Amelia

Amelia the Amazing has Bloon Shield, Act of Power, and Grand Disappearance abilities. You require 4 Bloontonium to use Bloon Shield which provides your last friendly bloon with 30 shields at the end of your turn. Act of Power costs 10 Bloontonium and reduces the cost of the next Power Card by 4, with a minimum cost of 0. Grand Disappearance is the second costliest ability in the game, costing 18 Bloontonium to use. It removes any enemy monkey you target from the match.

Obyn Greenfoot has the Summon Wolf, Nature’s Shield, and Spirit Strike. Summon Wolf is very useful, as it adds a wolf card which costs 0 Gold to your hand, once you have 5 Bloontonium. It is a defensive card. Nature’s Shield provides your hero with 20 shields at the end of your turn and costs only 8 Bloontonium. Obyn’s ultimate ability, Spirit Strike deals 100 damage to an enemy bloon and grants you 2 gold, costing only 13 Bloontonium.

Maps

Every match takes place in an Arena and includes five maps, all with the same layout but with different game modifiers, except Monkey Meadow. Both you and your opponent can veto one map per match. The different maps with their game modifiers are as follows:

  • Monkey Meadow: No special rules or modifiers in this map.
  • Dark Castle: Your Bloon cards gain 5 HP on this map.

  • High Finance: You gain 2 additional Gold on this map.

Store

The store offers a variety of items available for in-game transactions, but unlike other games, it doesn’t force you to buy unnecessary items. You can also go for a free-to-play approach, as the game gives 50 Monkey Money for watching a Daily AD in the store.

You can then use this Monkey Money to buy Daily Items and Heroes from the store. The daily items refresh every day, offering six items with prices ranging from 10 to 150 Monkey Money. You can buy Tokens and random cards of different rarities, such as Common, Uncommon, or Rare. Moreover, you can refresh the Daily items by watching an Ad.

You can buy Obyn Greenfoot for 1000 Monkey Money and Amelia the Amazing for 2000 Monkey Money. And if you don’t want to watch an ad daily, you can directly purchase Monkey Money and Tokens with real money.

In the Best Deals section, you can buy the Amelia Mega Bundle, which will unlock Amelia the Amazing Hero, her adventure, a card pack, a deck lost, and her exclusive avatar and card back. You can play her Prologue in adventure mode without purchasing the bundle. Plus, you can opt to buy her Adventure or Hero Bundle separately. You will also find an Obyn Hero Bundle and a limited-time Founder’s Pack available in this section.

Quests

You can also collect Monkey Money and Tokens by completing Quests. There are two types of quests in the game, Daily and Weekly Quests, which you can complete by playing Duels or Amelia’s Adventure. You can opt for Duels as you are required to purchase Amelia’s Adventure, which is optional.

You get 20 Monkey Money and 150 Random Tokens for each Daily Quest, while you get a massive 150 Monkey Money and 1000 Random Tokens for each Weekly Quest. You can only complete three quests each day and week, but you have the option to reroll them if you find them challenging.

There are various quests you can complete each week, such as Popping 25 Bloons with Hero Abilities, or 50 Bloons with Magic Monkey. Daily Quests are a lot easier like Dealing 1200 damage to opposing heroes or completing 5 games, which can be easily completed.

Feats

Feats are nothing but Achievements if you are confused. It is a great way of collecting lots of Monkey Money and Tokens to buy the Heroes and other daily items. Here’s how much you earn from each feat:

Bloons Card Storm Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

1. Complete all the Quests and Feats

The first thing you should focus on is trying to complete all the available quests and feats in the game. It doesn’t matter if you lose, but you should complete them to receive all the rewards. By doing so, you can buy the other two heroes quickly from all the Monkey Money that you get from quests and feats. Plus, you receive lots of tokens which are necessary for crafting your cards.

There are eleven types of Tokens available in the game. Ten types for each card class and then there is the special Universal Token that you can use to craft cards of any class. By completing these tasks and collecting all the rewards, you will get a major advantage over your opponents. You collect around 870 Monkey Money and 6150 Random Tokens in a week by just completing the Daily and Weekly Quests.

2. Complete all the Tutorials and Practice in the Training Mode

Don’t skip the tutorials that are available in the Adventure Mode. I made a big mistake by not focusing on them and understanding them properly, which affected my early matches. Don’t focus on progressing quickly without understanding the basics of the game. Plus, you also receive Gwendolin and her Starter Deck after completing Tutorials.

You will have to invest your time and attention in the game to improve, so take your take and don’t rush. After completing the tutorials, you should play a few training matches against AI before jumping into Duels with other players. This will allow you to practice against all four heroes and their decks, helping you to get familiar with their abilities and cards. Plus, the AI matches aren’t that easy and they can be quite challenging. So enjoy the process.

3. Build a proper starter Deck

The third thing that you should focus on is to build a proper deck to improve your winning percentage. You can have four Decks for free, but you can always delete your decks and create a new one as you progress. Once you get familiar with the cards and hero abilities, focus on crafting a strong deck and strategize accordingly. Remember that, this game is all about your strategy and your deck composition.

You can create a Quincy Deck, as his abilities cost less than Gwendolin and he is a better hero of the two. Try having lots of Red Bloons and Swarm Red Bloons as they cost 0 Gold. Even Blue Bloons and Swarm Bloons are good, costing only 1 Gold and they also provide 1 Bloontonium. You can be aggressive as they cost low and also let you use your hero abilities quicker.

Final Thoughts

Bloons Card Storm is a fun and competitive collectible card game that can be quite challenging if you don’t have a clear understanding of its mechanics, features, hero abilities, cards, and everything that the game offers. You get to play with four different heroes with unique abilities, and you can create your own decks consisting of a total of 40 cards, which can have Bloons, Monkey, and Power Cards. You can also chill and have fun in Adventure mode.

Once you grasp the basics of the game, you will have a lot of fun competing against other players in Duels. But don’t worry as this guide will help you to get familiar with the game, along with useful tips and tricks, and ensure a smooth and competitive gameplay experience.
