Key Takeaways
- Bloodborne fans were whipped into a frnezy yesterday, following the discovery that the game would be undergoing server maintenance on the day of a rumored showcase.
- Unfortunately, industry insider Jeff Grubb, who is very reliable when it comes to PlayStation and upcoming events, has claimed that the maintenance is “nothing”. Back to being depressed.
Bloodborne fans were whipped up into a frenzy yesterday, following the discovery that the game’s servers would be undergoing maintenance on December 3. That’s pretty standard stuff for FromSoftware games, as they usually undergo server maintenance one or twice a year to make sue everything is ship shape, but the date of Bloodborne’s update just happened to coincide with PlayStation 30th anniversary and the date of a long-rumored showcase.
It all felt like way too much of a coincidence for it to not mean a Bloodborne-related announcement was on the way, as many started to cross their fingers and toes that the fabled remaster of 60fps update for PS5 Pro may actually arrive next month. Unfortunately, it seems as though hopes have been dashed almost as quickly as they began forming.
Bloodborne Remaster Rumors Already Shut Down By PlayStation Insider
Shortly after fans discovered this server maintenance update, and Bloodborne fans were going wild on social media, reliable industry insider Jeff Grubb piped up to disappoint us all once again. In a tweet responding to the remaster rumors, Grubb simply claimed that “this is nothing”, pretty much shooting down any hopes that Bloodborne would finally be acknowledged by PlayStation.
Of course, this is just the word of one insider, and other insiders in the business have claimed that PlayStation is preparing to unveil some stuff next month, but it’s worth pointing out that Grubb has been very reliable when it comes to PlayStation news, most recently having accurately predicted the date of the latest PlayStation State of Play showcase.
We can most likely assume now that this was just one massive coincidence, even though it looked for sure like something was coming, and December 3 will more than likely come and go without this fabled showcase or event like many are hoping. Bloodborne fans will simply have to go back to trying to figure out why we haven’t had a remaster yet, even though pretty much everyone (including FromSoftware) actually wants one.
Bloodborne is a PlayStation 4-exclusive title developed by Dark Souls and Elden Ring creator FromSoftware, and launched in 2015. A critically acclaimed action role-playing game, you must traverse the city of Yharnam seeking a cure for a mysterious illness.
