The Intel GPU rumors are coming thick and fast now, and the latest piece of information to leak out of the tech rumor mill is the price of the new Arc B580 graphics card, and it looks good. If the latest rumors are true, then the price of this Battlemage card isn’t only cheaper than any of Nvidia and AMD’s current desktop GPUs, including the entry-level models, but it’s potentially also more powerful than them. If Intel gets this launch right, there’s reason for Nvidia and AMD to worry.
Of course, we’re not expecting this new Intel GPU to threaten the new Nvidia RTX 5090 when it comes out, but if this price rumor is accurate, the Arc B580 could potentially end up being the best graphics card for gamers on a tight budget. Specifically, this new rumor concerns an Intel Arc B580 graphics card with a limited edition box, so there may even be cheaper B580 cards available at launch.
Intel Arc B580 price estimate
The Intel Arc B580 price is $250, according to this latest rumor, which comes courtesy of regular (and often reliable) tech leaker momomo_us. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), momomo_us stated that the Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition Graphics Box has a price of $250, and also posted a pair of model numbers. Not only that, but a follow-up post also appeared to show screenshots of the graphics card at four unnamed US retailers, priced as low as $246.
To put that price into context, the cheapest Nvidia Ada desktop GPU right now is the GeForce RTX 4060, which only has 8GB of VRAM and currently goes for at least $279.99. Meanwhile, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 has an MSRP of $259.99, and again has 8GB of VRAM. Comparatively, the latest leaked Intel Arc B580 specs suggest this GPU will come equipped with 12GB of VRAM.
That’s a decent amount for a card at this price, even if its 8GB predecessor, the Arc A580 can be currently bought for $169.99. As such, while the B580’s rumored $250 price undercuts the Nvidia and AMD competition, it’s still a little high compared to the A580.
In fact, even the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 only has 12GB of VRAM, and that GPU costs over twice this rumored $250 price. If this Arc B580 price is accurate, then it looks as though Intel is planning to have a serious charge at the low-end gaming GPU market. Intel will need to hope its Battlemage GPU architecture can deliver the performance it needs, though.
As we found in our Intel Arc A770 review, Intel can now make a half-decent gaming GPU, but at that time the company was still struggling with compatibility issues. If Intel can get these resolved, and persuade significant numbers of developers to implement its XeSS upscaling tech into their games, then it’s in with a chance here. There hasn’t been a truly decent budget gaming GPU for a long time now, and decent competition could also force down the price of the RTX 5060 when it eventually comes out.
It looks as though the Arc B580 launch date is coming up very soon, but Intel isn’t the only company with new GPUs potentially on the horizon. Check out our RTX 5000 guide to see what Nvidia could also soon have in store for us.
