Every character has a role to play in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Merida is no exception. Her skill set is unique and stunning when she sets a lofty goal, but there are some who question her expertise. As the two of you grow closer, you’ll have to settle some disputes between her and the other villagers.

When Flynn tries to give Merida archery advice, she takes it as an insult. Smoothing things over between the two will take some work, but as the ruler of the Valley, it’s up to you to make sure everyone lives in relative harmony again.


Where To Find The Wanted Posters

Upon reaching friendship level four with Merida, you’ll find that she’s in quite the sour mood. Apparently, Flynn tried to give her some pointers when she was practicing with her bow–and she’s livid. She asks if you can go talk some sense into him while she calms down.

When you find him, Flynn’s on edge. He was just trying to help, but it wasn’t taken the right way. Merida lashed out and broke into his home. She stole his stash of wanted posters and put them up all around his house.

They never get his nose right, and it bothers Flynn to no end. He asks if you can take them all down. Head over to his house and collect all five of the wanted posters, then bring them to Merida. When you confront her, she laughs it off.


How To Make Persimmon Sour Fondue

To try and get the pair to get along again, Merida suggests hosting a feast. So long as you do all the cooking, she’ll get her home ready. She gives you the recipe to make Persimmon Sour Fondue, and you’ll need to make two bowls of it.

The ingredients can be found on trees around the Bind. Grab a handful of both persimmons and sour berries, then go to your stove and mix them together. To make the dish, you’ll have to put one persimmon and one sour berry bunch into the pot.

Once you’ve made two bowls of Persimmon Sour Fondue, head to Merida’s cottage and watch an argument unfold between the two.

With all this aggression, there’s only one way to settle matters safely: with an archery contest!


How To Complete The Archery Contest

Merida will give you five Archery Contest Signs to put up around the Bind. Open your furniture menu and place them around the area, then start gathering the materials to craft the competition’s archery targets.

You’ll need the following materials:

  • Petrified Wood (20)
  • Blue Tale Cone Flower (4)
  • Yellow Tale Cone Flower (6)
  • Wheat (16)

If you see Cone Flowers on the rocks under the bridge, just out of reach, do not try to pick them up!

The game will freeze and/or crash, as this is a known bug as well.

Once you’ve gathered everything, craft two of the archery targets at your Crafting Station. Bring them to Merida, then follow her to the Fairy Tale Trial in the Wild Woods so she can set everything up.

Inside the Trial, head to the main chamber where other villagers have gathered to witness the event. Talk to Merida and Flynn to get started.

After Flynn takes his shot,
take a commemorative photo
with him to memorialize his accuracy.


When it’s Merida’s turn, something is off. Investigate the target to see why she missed the goal by so much. It seems that a magnet has been placed inside her target! Who could have put it there?

Confront Flynn about the sabotage and disqualify him from the event. He’s disappointed that he didn’t get to demonstrate his signature trick, but understands. Merida, however, is furious.

She’s livid that he cheated and sets her mind on defeating him once and for all. When you talk to her, she decides to pull off Flynn’s trick shot on her own. Retrieve the arrow to show Flynn, then watch the pair resolve their differences.

While they may not see eye to eye, Flynn and Merida are able to clear things up and move on. It looks like the beginning of a tumultuous friendship!

Talk to Merida after the ordeal is over to conclude the quest and carry on with your exploration of the Vale.
