Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s The Storybook Vale gives you numerous ingredients and other collectibles to find, with some being easier to get hold of than others. One potentially troublesome ingredient you might be struggling with is how to get Trumpet Snails, an ingredient the game says isn’t as musical as it looks. Over the years, Disney Dreamlight Valley has added more ingredients to its collection, including other types of snails like Sea Snails. However, Trumpet Snails are an unusual and tricky specimen to track down in The Storybook Vale, as they appear to spawn infrequently in small batches and appear somewhat differently from other ingredients.

While you might need Trumpet Snails for several cooking recipes, you’ll also need them to complete certain quests like Olaf’s ‘A Hoot and A Half’ quest. If you’re finding it challenging to get Trumpet Snails in Disney Dreamlight Valley, here’s everything you need to know about them.
How To Get Trumpet Snail In Disney Dreamlight Valley
Although Trumpet Snails might seem like they should be in the fish collection, they are considered an ingredient in the collection menu. You get them differently from the usual way to catch seafood and fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Instead of fishing them up, you can get Trumpet Snails by picking them up from the ground in The Bind. They are a cone-shaped, brown-colored item that sticks up from the ground, so it’s easy for them to blend into the Fall-hued background of The Bind, depending on where they spawn. Although Trumpet Snails may appear anywhere in The Bind, they also have some common Trumpet Snail spawn locations, as listed and pictured below:
- Near the shoreline.
- Near Goofy’s Stall.
- Near the Chez Remy restaurant.
While it’s typically possible to collect up to
three Trumpet Snails
at any one time, some players report that they can only collect one or two at a time. If you’re looking for up to five Trumpet Snails, such as in Olaf’s ‘A Hoot and A Half’ quest, it’s best to grab them as soon as you spot them and ensure you don’t sell any.
What Is Trumpet Snail For In Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Beyond appearing in certain Storybook Vale quests, the primary purpose of Trumpet Snails is to cook dishes as an ingredient in the Spice and Herb category in the Storybook Vale ingredients collection. In the Storybook Vale cooking recipes, there are a couple of recipes where Trumpet Snails are a necessary ingredient, as listed below:
- Aquatic Escargot
- Chimera Skewer
Therefore, the number of recipes that use Trumpet Snails is pretty low compared to other ingredients, which is fortunate given the potential low spawn rate. If you’re lucky enough to collect a lot of Trumpet Snails, you could also sell them for 60 Gold Star Coins at Goofy’s Stall or eat one to restore +135 energy. It will also be interesting to see if Trumpet Snails remain a challenging ingredient to forage or if their spawn rate changes over time.
