The Zone in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is divided into several territories, which you’ll gradually explore as you complete the main story quests. After starting in the Lesser Zone, your journey will soon take you to Garbage to find clues about Nestor. However, it’s not all business, as this region is packed with side content, including plenty of stashes scattered across to distract you.

Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl – Should You Explore Or Progress The Main Story?
The Zone has something to discover, no matter how you go about it.
These stashes are an absolute gold mine for Stalkers, as they contain everything from medical supplies and ammo to food and, occasionally, interesting weapons to help you get by. If you’re ready to hunt them down, here’s where to find every stash in Garbage.
Koldyba’s Pigsty Stash Location
The first stash in Garbage is an easy find just after you cross the bridge into the region. Head north along the road, and you’ll hear a desperate cry for help from a Stalker named Vovchyk Koldyba, who’s being hassled by some bandits keen to loot him. Step in, save him, and he’ll repay you by tipping you off about his stash’s location.
The stash is close by, tucked inside the building to the right of the NPC. Look for wooden barricades at the northern end of the structure. Break the barricade, squeeze through the hole, and you’ll find the stash in a dumpster along with a pistol.
Abandoned Drop In Hlynka Location
This stash is hidden in the Hlynka settlement, located along the western road, as soon as you enter Garbage. Keep an eye out for a small brick structure near the end of the street on the right, and that’s where the stash is. It’s a duffle bag, but you’ll find a bunch of other loot on the racks as well.
The door will be initially locked
, but you’ll
find the key to it inside a broken TV in the house next door
.
Forgotten Loot In The Southeastern Junkyard Location
This stash is another early find in Garbage, but you’ll need to head east instead. Follow the road, and you’ll stumble upon a junkyard that’s hard to miss.
Look for a destroyed green truck. The stash is just underneath the vehicle, but don’t rush in just yet. It’s likely mutant dogs will ambush you, so deal with them first if they appear. Once the coast is clear, you can safely loot its contents.
Roof Stash In The Detention Center Location
During the Answers Come At A Pricemain quest, you’ll visit the Detention Center in the southeastern part of Garbage. This safe zone holds several stashes, including one perched atop its roof.
To access it, head up the southern stairs inside the building until you reach an open-sky demolished section. Use the slanted beam to climb to the roof, where you’ll find a bunch of lava-spewing anomalies. Carefully make your way to the northern end of the roof, where you’ll find a chest next to a lifeless body. That’s your stash!
There’s
another unknown stash opposite the fallen column
.
Tamper-Proof Stash In The Detention Center Location
The Tamper-Proof Stash lies in the Detention Center’s basement, but accessing it requires the heavy key. Begin by entering the building through the southern door and searching a small compartment. You’ll find the key sitting on the desk.
With the key in hand, head downstairs and unlock the basement door. The stash is inside the room directly ahead.
A
fire poltergeist mutant lurks in the basement
. Thankfully, you can
eliminate it safely by shooting through the metal grating from outside
the building before heading in. There’s also an
artifact hidden here in one of the thermal anomalies
in the basement.
Abandoned Drop In The Detention Center Location
Before you climb the stairs out of the Detention Center’s basement, make sure to loot a soldier’s corpse lying near a thermal anomaly. Act quickly to avoid getting burned, and on his body, you’ll find the old key.
This key unlocks the double orange doors on the same floor as the NPCs, and behind these doors lies the final stash in this area you’re after.
Missing Person’s Loot In Vehicle Graveyard Location
To find the Missing Person’s Loot, head west of Hlynka and cross the bridge. After that, follow the road south until you spot a cluster of bubble anomalies. These hazardous phenomena can deal chemical damage, so steer clear unless you’re after an artifact.
Past the anomaly field is the Vehicle Graveyard. Here, look for a small cabin tucked beside some rusted trucks. That’s where you’ll find the stash waiting for you.
Hidden Stash In Acidic Cave Location
To uncover this stash, make your way to the hidden cave northeast of the Vehicle Graveyard. The entrance is somewhat hidden, so keep your eyes peeled as you approach the area.
Inside, you’ll face a haze of acidic fumes. Unless you’re well-prepared with gear, you’ll need to act fast to minimize damage. Press through the toxic air, and your efforts will be rewarded with the stash tucked safely inside among a bunch of dead bodies.
Poorly Hidden Loot In The Plant Location
The Plant, located along the road that runs north, is a key area with several stashes to discover. One of these is the appropriately named Poorly Hidden Loot in the basement of the main building.
To find it, head down to the basement and look for a room behind a closed door. Open it, and you’ll uncover the chest. It might be poorly hidden, but the loot inside is still worthwhile for any Stalker passing through.
Forgotten Loot In The Plant Location
To find the Forgotten Loot in the Plant, head outside the main building and enter the adjacent one on the left. Inside, climb the ladder and look south to spot a skybridge of sorts. Follow it south, but watch out for glass shard anomalies along the way. Duck through them to avoid any damage, then quickly make your way to the stash.
However, you shouldn’t take too long, as
psi emissions will start kicking in for whatever reason
, causing hallucinations and making enemies appear out of nowhere. So,
grab your loot and get out before things turn haywire
.
Forgotten Stash In The Plant Location
Next, head to the half-baked building in the western section of the Plant and climb the stairs to the top. Use the beams to cross over to the southeast platform, where you’ll find the Forgotten Stash next to a dead body and a PDA. The PDA will point you to the next stash, so make sure to grab it before moving on.
Stolen Roof Stash In The Plant Location
The same PDA will lead you to this stash, located in the same building as the Forgotten Loot but on its southern end. Enter the building from the south, climb the stairs, and head out the door. After that, turn south and jump over to the platform, then turn around to spot a blue safe next to the edge and loot it to tick off the Stolen Roof Stash.
Dusty Loot In The Plant Boiler Station Location
The Plant Boiler Station, neighboring the Plant, is home to some bandits. Once you clear them out, you can explore it freely for hidden stashes. Starting with the Dusty Loot, it is only accessible from the rooftop of the building where the bandits were holed up.
To get there, simply climb the ladder sticking to the building’s wall. Once on the roof, jump down the hole in the floor into a locked room. The large blue safe in here is the stash in question.
Backpack In The Plant Boiler Station Location
This stash is a simple find on the same building, and all you need to do is climb the stairs one level up. Once you’re there, enter the first room on the right, and you’ll find the backpack on top of a broken shelf.
Gas Station Stash In The Plant Boiler Station Location
To find the Gas Station Stash, head south from the main building to the three interlinked reservoirs. Climb up the ladder on the southernmost reservoir and cross over to the third one. The stash will be there, along with a box holding medical supplies.
Lex The Legend’s Stash Location
In the Flea Market POI, located in the western part of Garbage, you’ll meet Lex the Legend, a Stalker with quite the reputation, though it’s all a scam.
After chatting with him, he’ll send you coordinates to his “legendary stash”, which turns out to be on top of a vehicle with a shovel attachment. What you’ll find? A mostly empty stash with a note mocking you and a useless pistol with zero durability.
And just when you think it’s over, a Bloodsucker ambushes you. So much for legendary. At least that’s a lesson learned to never trust everyone you come upon in the Zone.
Plain Looking Stash In The Slag Heap Location
The Slag Heap in Garbage serves as a safe hub, much like Zalissya in the Lesser Zone, and you’ll make your way to it during The Price Goes Up story mission. If you’re thorough, you’ll find some hidden stashes, including the Plain Looking Stash.
To find it, start climbing the scaffolding ladders near the main door. Once the ladders run out, head north, jump over to the platform and loot the stash. The contents aren’t so flashy, but neither are they too shabby.
Backpack In The Slag Heap Location
To grab this backpack, you’ll need to follow a similar approach. Outside the double doors of the Slag Heap, spot the ladder leading up to a scaffold. Climb as far as you can, then follow the slanted wooden plank. The backpack is sitting right there.
The Shah’s Stash Location
Towards the end of the No Honor Among Thieves side quest given by Huron in the Slag Heap, you’ll face a decision to either kill or spare Docent. If you pick the latter, he’ll pass on the coordinates to the Shah’s Stash, a stash that holds an incredible SMG.
The stash is hidden in a sewer to the northeast of the Slag Heap. But don’t get too comfortable once you find it.
As soon as you grab the loot,
a Bloodsucker will come charging in
, so be prepared to take it down.
