This guide shows gamers how prospecting works in MySims so they can dig out tons of treasure chests from the ground and acquire all the essence that they’ll need to craft items at the Workshop.
Where to Prospect in MySims
Certain resources in MySims can only be obtained by prospecting the land. To prospect in MySims, gamers will have to find an eligible prospecting spot. In-game, players can prospect by approaching ore deposits. Once they’re nearby, the option to “prospect” will appear on the screen; when this happens, players must select it to get their character to grab the detector.
Initially, there will only be two areas where gamers can go to prospect in MySims: the Geeky Cave and the area between the southern garden and the train station. However, as they progress through the game, they’ll gain access to more prospecting areas. This will allow them to retrieve all sorts of Essences in other themed caves and locations.
How to Prospect in MySims
After selecting the “prospect” option, the player’s character will pull out a detector. In MySims, the detector will glow a certain color depending on how close the player is to a treasure chest.
If the player is far from their target, it will emit a blue light and only beep occasionally. Gamers must move around while continuing to analyze its color. The closer players get to their target, the warmer the color will appear. After blue, it’ll turn green, yellow, orange, and eventually red.
When the detector emits a red light it’s because the player is extremely close, and it will continuously beep and emit red waves if the player is standing on top of it. Then, the “dig” option will appear on the screen, allowing players to uncover the treasure chest with the desired essence inside.
