Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Popular Combat Event Coming Back in Version 5.3

Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Popular Combat Event Coming Back in Version 5.3

Key Takeaways

  • According to a leak, Legend of the Vagabond Sword is expected to return in Genshin Impact 5.3 with tougher bosses and new combat mechanics.
  • The event features 4 world bosses at Level 105, requiring specific characters to succeed.
  • Players will need to interrupt boss Ultimate abilities and break elemental shields to succeed.

According to a leak, the Legend of the Vagabond Sword is coming back to Genshin Impact in Version 5.3, bringing an increased level of challenge with a new combat mechanic on top of an updated roster of bosses. While the Spiral Abyss and the Imaginarium Theater can be considered the endgame of Genshin Impact, the developers have toyed with adding more difficult combat encounters over the years. The Local Legends of Fontaine and Natlan are one such example, but the Legend of the Vagabond Sword deserves a mention as well.

Unlike Local Legends in Genshin Impact, which are considered permanent content, the Legend of the Vagabond Sword is a temporary combat event that shows up randomly over the course of a region. The original version came out in Version 1.6, while the latest iteration featured in Version 4.6 during the Fontaine era. While players were afforded a chance to pick up Primogem rewards at lower difficulties, completing the combat event at the highest difficulty meant pushing one’s skill (and team) to the limit.

Genshin Impact Leak Teases New Inazuma Character for Version 5.4

A recent Genshin Impact leak teases a new playable character from the Nation of Eternity that will potentially debut in Version 5.4.

According to datamined information via HomDGCat, Version 5.3 will see the return of the Legend of the Vagabond Sword – this time featuring four recent world bosses at Level 105. The bosses outlined in the leak are the Hydro Tulpa, Legatus Golem, Tyrant of Fire and Iron, and the Secret Source Automaton. The last boss will notably necessitate the use of characters such as Xilonen or Xianyun in Genshin Impact, as players will otherwise struggle to climb up the pillars and interrupt the boss. Unlike previous versions of the event, not only are players expected to break through an elemental shield to damage the boss, but they also need to interrupt their Ultimate ability. Failure to do so results in all active characters being downed, with the boss restoring their shield to full strength.

Genshin Impact: Legend of the Vagabond Sword Bosses for Version 5.3

  • Hydro Tulpa: Flashflood
  • Legatus Golem: Harmonizer
  • Tyrant of Fire and Iron
  • Secret Source Automaton: Firepower Enhanced

While the exact hit points of the four bosses remain unknown, Genshin Impact players should expect large numbers. Notably, the Primo Geovishap in Version 4.6 had over 9 million HP. As for general strategies to consider, the Hydro Tulpa was likely added to benefit players with Mavuika and Arlecchino, two characters that will feature on the Event Banners in Version 5.3 of Genshin Impact. Players that lack either 5-Star could potentially see victory with a well-built Xiangling.

On the other hand, Legatus Golem should be easily countered by Navia in Genshin Impact, as well as other Geo characters that can consistently apply Geo. Lastly, the Tyrant of Fire and Iron is designed with Neuvillette or Mualani in mind and should be easy to interrupt with most Hydro hypercarries. Version 5.3 is set to launch on January 1, 2025, and players can expect to see the Legend of the Vagabond Sword at some point during the update.
