Cat’s Eye manga began serializing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in September 1981, and it reached its climax in October 1985. Decades after its conclusion, the manga received a remake that was drawn by Shingo Asai. It started serializing in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Comic Zenon in October 2010. Eventually, it reached its end in January 2014, and all the chapters were compiled into eight volumes. The Cat’s Eye manga has sold over 20 million copies. The new anime adaptation will likely bolster sales, and the numbers should go up.

The initial anime adaptation of Cat’s Eye was produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsa. It began airing in July 1983 until March 1983. The initial run comprised 36 episodes. The subsequent installment came out in October 1984, and it ran for 37 episodes before ending in July 1985.
