Where to Go After First Boss (Yingzhao)

Where to Go After First Boss (Yingzhao)

Yingzhao is the first boss in Nine Sols, and players will receive Kuafu’s Sol Seal after they defeat that foe. Once that item has been collected, fans will be free to continue their journeys through New Kunlun, though they may be confused about where to go next. This walkthrough is here to alleviate that confusion, and it will help players determine how to proceed after beating the first boss in Nine Sols.

This guide focuses exclusively on the steps that players should take to advance the story after defeating Yingzhao. That said, there is some merit to revisiting areas that have been explored previously before advancing, as that is a good way to gain additional skill points, money, and
computing power in

Get Seal of Kuafu

After beating Yingzhao in Nine Sols, and collecting the Herb Catalyst from the defeated boss, players should go to the right and speak with Kuafu. At the end of that conversation, fans should interact with the machine that was behind Kuafu to trigger a linear sequence that ends with the acquisition of the Seal of Kuafu.

Go to Four Seasons Pavilion

With the first Sol Seal in hand, players should go right and ride the elevator to New Kunlun Central Hall. Once the lift comes to a stop, fans of Metroidvanias should head right and interact with the door between the large statues to enter the Four Seasons Pavilion.

During this trip to the Four Seasons Pavilion, players have the opportunity to speak with the various NPCs that are found there. While fans are not required to talk to all the characters, they should make sure to visit Kuafu on the second floor. This visit will ultimately yield the Azure Bow and Cloud Piercer Arrow, which will allow Yi to attack from a distance.

Go to Grotto of Scriptures (Entry)

Players should now leave the Four Seasons Pavilion, travel to the right, and climb the stairs that they encounter. There is a statue with a spear at the top of those stairs, and fans should hit it with a Tai-Chi Kick when it glows green. Players should then hack the unarmed statue to open the gate that blocks the path to the right.

Players who follow the newly-accessible path will find themselves in the Lake Yaochi Ruins, and they should continue moving to the right to reach a boat that they can use to cross a body of water. Notably, fans will encounter one of Nine Sol‘s bell puzzles along the path, and there are also some optional rooms to explore.

Once the boat comes to a stop, players should continue to the right until they reach the Grotto of Scriptures (Entry). Once again, there are some opportunities for optional exploration along this part of the path, and fans may want to take a moment to pursue them.

Get Charged Strike

After reaching the Grotto of Scriptures (Entry), players should make their way to a lift at the bottom of the room. Standing on that device will trigger a cinematic sequence, in which fans will be introduced to Goumang, and they will find themselves in the Greenhouse when that sequence comes to an end.

Players should then walk to the left and interact with the malfunctioning Root Node that they encounter. This interaction will send Yi to a realm in which he will learn the Charged Strike ability, which will make it possible for Soulslike fans to break shields and explore new areas.
