The post-launch content of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is well underway, with its anticipated first in-game season releasing on November 14 and bringing a wide range of changes to its multiplayer and Zombies offerings. While these in-game seasons are often times of huge change for multiplayer with the introductions of new maps and weapons, Zombies is seemingly set to receive an equal amount of attention throughout a lot of the post-launch updates of the recently released title.
A handful of changes have already come to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Zombies thanks to season one, but the major new features are still set to come a little later on throughout the season. By far, the most exciting addition that season one will bring to Black Ops 6 Zombies is the introduction of a brand-new map, with Citadelle Des Morts recently being confirmed to have a December 5 release date. While Treyarch has not yet offered a major deep dive into what Citadelle Des Morts will offer, fans can still garner an excellent idea of the kind of content they can expect to see when the map launches in a few weeks’ time.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 prides itself on its level of change, the title can afford to use one divisive multiplayer strategy from other games.
Citadelle Des Morts Will Bring a Lot of New Features to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Citadelle Des Morts will be the third map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies’ map selection, with the Liberty Falls and Terminus launch maps working together to create a lot of positive sentiment around the mode early on into Black Ops 6‘s life cycle. Fans should expect Citadelle Des Morts to carry forward the round-based gameplay of Liberty Falls and Terminus, with Black Ops 6‘s return to round-based experiences being a welcome deviation away from the Outbreak Zombies formula introduced by 2020’s Black Ops Cold War.
From the promotional images that have already been released for Citadelle Des Morts, it is confirmed that the map will feature an old-timey village and a historic castle as its core setting, with this already drawing comparisons to past CoD Zombies experiences like Black Ops 3‘s popular Der Eisendrache map. These promotional images paint a good picture of Citadelle Des Morts’ layout, and fans can expect to face off against the undead through a mix of the castle’s spacious courtyards and more claustrophobic corridors, with this setting likely informing the map’s Wonder Weapon.
A new Wonder Weapon is confirmed to come to Black Ops 6 through Citadelle Des Morts, with leaks indicating that the map will introduce a sword Wonder Weapon inspired by medieval roots. It will supposedly function in the same vein as the bows of Der Eisendrache and the elemental staffs of Black Ops 2‘s Origins, with four versions being available to acquire so that each player can weld their own blade in a full lobby.
New Easter Eggs and Special Enemies Will Also Come with Citadelle Des Morts
Like most CoD Zombies maps, Citadelle Des Morts will feature its own Easter egg quest, with a Directed Mode for this quest being expected to release a few weeks after the map launches on December 5. Alongside this, it is confirmed that Citadelle Des Morts will introduce a new Zombies perk to Black Ops 6, with current theories being split between this perk being a pre-existing one like Double Tap, or a brand-new addition to the franchise.
Treyarch has also stated that Citadelle Des Morts will bring a fresh special enemy to Black Ops 6 Zombies, with this likely being a preexisting enemy like Cold War‘s Mimic, especially when considering that the Mimic featured in Black Ops 6‘s mind-bending Emergence campaign mission. Players can also expect a range of new Gobblegums and weapon upgrades to come to Black Ops 6 Zombies through Citadelle Des Morts, as well as a continuation of the story that brings back Ravenov and builds off of Terminus’ ending, making the upcoming map a time of huge change for Black Ops 6.
