Dark and depressing stories are a common theme in Genshin Impact lore. With wars and power struggles being the center of the story, it’s no surprise that players have to witness the final words of those who are long gone.
In the Isle of Night in Ochkanatlan, players will come across an Ancient Diary that testifies to the existence of a warrior from many years ago. The Ancient Diary also mentions an Unhatched Saurian Egg, which the warrior planned to name Aguara. Here’s how players can find the Isle of Tozoz and claim the Unhatched Saurian Egg in Genshin Impact. In the process, Travelers will also earn the Perhaps We’ve a Long Road Ahead of Us… Achievement.

Isle Of Tozoz Puzzle In Genshin Impact
Isle of Tozoz is located in the northeastern part of Ochkanatlan in Genshin Impact. To trigger the Isle of Tozoz puzzle, players must indwell an Iktomisaur or use the Masters of the Night-Wind Spiritspeaking ability on an Ancient Inscribed Ring. This will start a cutscene, showing players where all the switches required to solve the puzzle are.
Isle Of Tozoz Puzzle Switch #1
The first Isle of Tozoz button is by the broken bridge. Simply head there, but avoid the guarding lights to not get attacked.
Isle Of Tozoz Puzzle Switch #2
Next, head southeast to the second button. After coming near, the mechanism will lock and an enemy will spawn, so make sure to have a proper team before going there.
The enemy is a Tenebrous Mimiflora. Like the Tenebrous Papilla boss in Genshin Impact, they have a Void Ward that must be destroyed before players can deal damage. The Void Ward depletes when hit by Elemental DMG, but Nightsoul-aligned hits are three times more effective at destroying it.
Isle Of Tozoz Puzzle Switch #3
After getting the first two buttons, Paimon will say that there are no more switches in the area, so players should look up. As shown in the initial cutscene, the final switch is above the area, so players must find a way up there. Travelers are free to be creative with their climbing, but the proper solution to this problem is as follows:
- Indwell the Iktomisaur by the Teleport Waypoint, or use characters like Ororon in Genshin Impact.
- Head back to switch #2, then look at the broken tower up the small stairs.
- Use the Spiritspeaking ability on the graffiti by holding the Normal Attack button.
- Hold the Elemental Skill button and place the scanned graffiti on the ground; this will create a wind current.
- Fly up the wind current, then there should be a stone platform nearby.
- Land on the platform, and it’ll move up, leading players to the final switch on the Isle of Tozoz.
The Lone Isle Named Night Quest In Genshin Impact
After the Ancient Inscribed Ring on the Isle of Tozoz is restored, use the Spiritspeaking ability on it to open the gate; this will start The Lone Isle Named Night quest, which is one of the many missions in In The Footsteps Of The Chosen Of Dragons series in Genshin Impact.
Since players already did all the work on the previous puzzles, this quest is straightforward and only has two tasks:
- Investigate the hidden chamber.
- Activate the incubator.
Read the note on the table, then approach the incubator to try and hatch the egg. Unfortunately, the egg won’t hatch, ending the quest quickly.

Additionally, Tubby the Serenitea Pot spirit will make a duplicate of the egg as furniture for the Serenitea Pot.
