SteelSeries entered the microphone market with its Alias and Alias Pro back in October of last year. The two mics have now been discounted for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. If you are looking to upgrade your streaming setup or just want to add a dedicated microphone for better communication with teammates, now’s your chance to try either the professional-grade Alias Pro or the more casual, yet versatile, Alias mic.

SteelSeries Alias and Alias Pro Gaming Microphones
The two mics have mostly the same design and are powered by Sonar, the company’s audio software suite. They also feature AI noise-canceling and Parametric EQ for fine-tuning the different aspects of the mics.
SteelSeries Alias: Perfect for Beginners
The Alias is a USB-C condenser mic with a Cardioid pickup pattern and a frequency response range of 50 Hz to 20 KHz. You get quick access to microphone gain, mute button, and headphone gain with the dials up front. There is also a five stage LED and mute icon integrated seamlessly at the front. It comes with a shock mount stand, but it can mount to a boom arm easily.
The Sonar software lets you customize the different parameters, as well as monitor the different audio streams and apply studio effects.
The SteelSeries Alias is priced at $140 for Black Friday. That’s a $40 discount on its typical price. It is available on Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers.

An easy to follow step by step guide on how to choose the best gaming headset with mic for PC.
SteelSeries Alias Pro: High-Quality At A Not-So-High Price
For a more professional setup, the Alias Pro is where it’s at. The XLR mic comes with a Stream Mixer amplifier that connects to your PC via a USB port and gives you easy access to the microphone gain, mute button, as well as a programmable mute button and a volume dial. The Stream Mixer allows connecting the Alias Pro to two computers at the same time. Since the controls have been moved to the mixer, the mic itself is cleaner looking with just the SteelSeries logo on it.
Like the Alias, it comes with an anti-vibration shock mount stand and can be mounted to a boom arm as well. The basic specifications are identical as well, so the performance will be about the same between the two.
The SteelSeries Alias Pro is priced at $250 for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which is an $80 discount. The deal is live on Amazon and SteelSeries’ website, but not anywhere else at the time of writing.
Game Rant has reviewed both the microphones and found that, for most people, the SteelSeries Alias is probably the best choice, as it delivers nearly identical sound quality for a significantly lower price, and the setup process is much simpler as well. On the other hand, the Alias Pro is ideal for a professional streaming setup, and, thanks to its XLR connection, can be connected to a different interface.
