There aren’t many strategy series, or videogames at all, with the staying power of Total War Warhammer. Civilization will always be here. Stellaris has cemented itself at the top of the space 4X subgenre. But as Creative Assembly gets ready to unleash the 100th legendary lord, it’s safe to say that TWW is here to stay. We already know that Golgfag Maneater, Gorbad Ironclaw, and Skulltaker, the Hero Slayer are on their way to Total War Warhammer 3, alongside new units, campaign abilities, and of course Arbaal the Undefeated. But now the new TWW3 DLC, named Omens of Destruction, has a release date, and it arrives alongside a big update that overhauls factions.
The new Total War Warhammer 3 DLC arrives alongside the free patch 6.0, which introduces the 100th legendary lord in the form of Arbaal and updates the Khorne, Ogre, and Orcs and Goblins factions. Further expanding one of the best Warhammer games, Omens of Destruction also brings Skulltaker for the Khorne, Gorbad Ironclaw for the Orcs and Goblins, and Golgfag Maneater for the Ogre Kingdom.
They each have unique campaign abilities – every time Skulltaker kills a rival lord, for example, he gains new powers – and they’re also accompanied by their respective new units. Our resident expert and Warhammer analyst Ken already broke down everything that’s coming in Omens in Destruction, including the legendary heroes, Ogre Paymasters, and Mangler Squigs.
The Total War Warhammer 3 Omens of Destruction release date is set for Thursday December 12. While the DLC is paid, patch 6.0, which includes Arbaal and the faction rework, is free for everyone. You can check out the new trailer for Omens of Destruction below:
