Alan Wake 2 has received a new update that aims to fix some small problems having to do with the Lake House DLC, and adjusts one of the game’s more challenging enemy types. Developer Remedy Entertainment released Alan Wake 2‘s The Lake House DLC in October, further strengthening the connection between Alan Wake and Control as players explore a mysterious FBC facility as agent Kiran Estevez.
The latest update for Alan Wake 2 went live last week, on November 18. A small update, it gave players the ability to cancel reloads by boosting their flashlights, a change that hardcore players surely appreciated. The patch also fixed a bug that affected weapons that had been partially reloaded, causing them not to fire at all. Along with a PS5 DualSense adaptive trigger fix, the Lake House expansion had a big presence in last week’s update notes, with some fixes having to do with the DLC’s cinematics.

Alan Wake 2: Biggest Ways It Has Changed Since Launch
Alan Wake 2 has seen some pretty significant additions since its release back in 2023. Here are some of the most notable changes fans can enjoy.
A week later, Remedy Entertainment rolled out another update for Alan Wake 2. Update 1.2.5 is another smaller patch, but it’s one that includes a quality of life change for The Lake House when it’s played as part of the main story, having collectibles from the DLC now show up in protagonist Saga Anderson’s Mind Palace. Alan Wake 2‘s enemies that dash around and throw weapons at players have also been slowed, making it easier for players to pin them down and take them out.
Players who enjoy Alan Wake 2‘s Pat Maine radio show will likely be happy with Update 1.2.5, as it makes previously unobtainable episodes of the show available once more. Alan Wake 2‘s new game plus mode, named The Final Draft, has also seen some improvements with the new update; issues with an unobtainable manuscript page and missing Alice photos have been resolved. For PlayStation 5 Pro users, the update also smooths over a problem with in-game shadows when swapping between quality and performance modes.
With Alan Wake 2‘s second and seemingly final DLC out the door, it doesn’t seem like there’s much else left for Remedy to do for the game aside from improving its performance on Sony’s freshly released PS5 Pro refresh. As for what’s next for Remedy Entertainment, it recently revealed its first-person shooter set in the Control universe, named FBC Firebreak, a bold new direction for the ever-growing “RemedyVerse”. Remedy also has Control 2 in development, as well as remakes of the first two Max Payne games.

- [Night Springs] Fixed an issue where a Night Springs episode would not be available in the main campaign after loading a nearby save.
