As the name of the game suggests, Lumas are an integral part of Luma Island. They’re small adorable creatures that help you get Luma Energy to progress through your career and unlock new biomes. There are 15 of them in total, and in order to get them, you need to find their eggs and hatch them.
They can also help you find treasure, as you can have one follow you around at all times, and they will indicate areas in the ground for you to dig in to find treasure chests. So, all round, Lumas are really useful little creatures. Here is where you can find all 15 eggs.

Where To Find All Luma Eggs In Luma Island
Luma Eggs can be found in special locations all around Luma Island, but you’ll need to traverse through Ancient Temples and find mysterious Crystals to get them all. This can be dangerous business, especially when you get to the later game biomes, so make sure you always have your whip upgraded and equipped as you look for them. Here are how many eggs you can find in each biome — and where to locate them:

Ancient Temples are dungeon-like locations in biomes which have a series of different rooms with puzzles you need to solve to get to the end. After you finish an Ancient Temple for the first time, you’ll find a Mysterious Egg (Luma Egg) in the chest in the very last room. You need to complete the entire Temple and all its rooms to get it, though, so make sure you don’t leave early — and make sure you’re properly equipped to complete them.
Offering Pedestals work slightly differently, as you need to find all the Crystal Offerings in each biome and insert them in the Pedestals to open the door and get access to the chest and rewards inside. Each biome has a pretty large number of Crystals to find and open the Pedestals, and they are scattered all around the given biome, so it may take some time to get all of them.
How To Hatch Luma Eggs
To hatch a Luma Egg, you need to build a Luma Incubator. You will get the recipe for this building early on in your profession, and you’ll need five Leather, three Copper Ingots, five Fabric, and five Glass to craft one.
Leather and Fabric can be crafted at the workbench using Mushrooms and Cotton, respectively, while Glass can be made in the Kiln using Sand and Coal. Copper Ingots may be a bit more difficult to find, as you need to head into the abandoned caves to find Copper Ore and then smelt them into Ingots for use. But, once you have everything you need, you’ll be able to build a Luma Incubator and hatch your first Luma.
To hatch a Luma, you need to first craft one Luma Life using the Incubator. You need any type of Spirit for this, and you can choose whichever one you’d like to use — Water, Earth, Nature, Rock, and Lost Spirits will all give you a Luma Life. These Spirits can be found while harvesting resources and exploring the Ruins, and as you get more materials, you’ll find yourself with an abundance of them by the end of the day.
Insert your Egg and the Luma Life in the Incubator, and your Luma will hatch. Once it’s done incubating, you can pick it up, and it will slot into your inventory where you can put it in your pocket slot to have it follow you around. If you have more Lumas, you can swap them out by catching the one you want with your net, and it will land in your inventory as well.
How To Look After Lumas
The main reason you want to have Lumas around is that they drop Luma Energy, which is an important ingredient in many new recipes that you unlock as you make your way through your profession. You can get them to drop Luma Energy by feeding them Luma Food and petting them once a day.
Crafting Luma Food is fairly cheap, as it costs one Farm Flower, one Farm Mushroom, and one Farm Berry to get it. These are abundant around the biome, so you shouldn’t struggle to make sure your Luma is well-fed. When you get to other biomes like the Forest and Mountain, you’ll also be able to craft Luma Food in bundles of five and seven for the same material cost using the Forest and Mountain variants of each. You can also get Luma Power Food from the Mushroom Man for your Lumas, which will allow them to drop an extra Luma Energy even if they’ve been fed that day.
Lastly, you need to build Luma Nests to ensure that your extra Lumas have a place to stay. You can only have one following you around at a time, and you would have to keep them in your inventory if you didn’t have a nest for them. You can find the recipes for Luma Nests in the Drawing Shop in town, and they come in three tiers: small, medium, and large. A small nest will hold two Lumas, while a medium nest can hold four and a large one can seven.
The materials you need to build Luma Nests get rarer the higher up in tier you go, so make sure you make your way through each biome in
Luma Island
so you can eventually build the large nest to keep all the Lumas you find safe and happy.
