How to beat the Frostborne Dragon in PUBG Mobile Icemire Frontier mode

PUBG Mobile or its Indian counterpart, BGMI never fails to amaze its players by bringing new and interactive items in each version update. In the recent 3.5 version, we got the new chilly Icemire Frontier mode. Each of these themed modes in both PUBG Mobile and BGMI consists of one Player versus Environment (PvE) element, this time it is the mighty Frostborne Dragon. In the previous Bloodmoon Awakening mode, we had the Dracula as the main PvE element.

Why beating the Frostborne Dragon is tough in PUBG Mobile and BGMI

Previously, the PvE gameplay was very easy. We were able to beat the characters without any hassle. But in this Icemire Frontier mode, the story is different. The health bar of the Frostborne Dragon in PUBG Mobile replenishes consistently which makes it very hard to beat it.

In the Bloodmoon Awakening, even 1 or 2 players were able to beat the Dracula. But in this mode, even if you go with your full squad, you will find it very tough. Another thing that makes it more complex is the
intervention of other players. Apart from your team, two more squads will be able to enter the Dragon’s lair to fight the mighty Frostborne Dragon. It is up to you how you will make your strategies for this epic showdown.

Where to find the portals to enter the Dragon’s lair in Icemire Frontier mode

You will see many broken doors or portal icons on the map. These portals open after a certain period. You can use this tunnel to directly go to the Dragon’s lair. Keep in mind that your opponent players will also be able to see these secret door locations on the map. So, you can expect a lot of ambushes and surprises from the enemy teams when you reach there.

Another way of accessing the Dragon’s lair is getting the Dragon Horn equipment. When you use the horn, an exclusive portal to the Dragon’s lair appears in front of you. You can use it to enter. Although this Dragon Horn equipment is quite rare hence not many players get it.

How to defeat the Frostborne Dragon in PUBG Mobile or BGMI

As we have mentioned already this final boss is very tough to beat and it will take a lot of effort to get the better of it. Before engaging it, don’t forget to loot properly lest you not run out of ammunition and utilities. We have carefully shortlisted some ways to beat it easily. Here we go:

1. Pair up with your opponents

As you know apart from your team there will be two more teams, and you can try to partner with them to take down the Dragon. You can communicate with them using the all mic and beat the Dragon together. After beating it, you can fight with each other for the available loot. Although, while using this trick do not fall into the trap of your enemies, and be careful.

2. Run in circles to avoid the Dragon attacks

The Frostborne Dragon has a weak point. It can not track constantly moving enemies with its melee and projectile attacks properly. If you keep running in a circle while shooting, it will be much easier for you to beat it. Do not cross the borderline of the circle and always stay behind it while shooting as sometimes you can get hit with its melee attacks.

3. Use your teammate to distract the Dragon

As you can already guess from the name, it will take one player from your squad to play a sacrificial role in the fight. The Frostborne Dragon usually gets locked on only one player at a time. Give someone from your squad most of the consumables. Tell them the boost properly and then go to the arena. After the Dragon starts attacking them, start shooting the Dragon to beat it easily. However, sometimes the first player may survive the whole fight if they play it carefully and smartly.

4. Go for the weak parts of the Dragon

Look for the parts of the Dragon where it glows in bright colors. Shooting on those glowing parts will give you more damage points and you will notice a red colored marker is appearing when you shoot it.

Always try to use guns with bigger magazines. You can use one M416 AR and one M249 Light Machinegun (LMG). Always equip the M249 with an Extended quickdraw magazine. It will double the magazine capacity of the gun.

5. Climb up the pillars of the Dragon’s Lair

You can use the Frostsoul spear to go to the top of the columns of the Dragon’s lair arena. When you are shooting from the top, the Frostborne Dragon will not be able to catch and harm you. However, we will suggest you not use this specific trick because sometimes Krafton treats it as an exploitation of bugs and glitches. If you disobey, it can get you in trouble.

It is great to see that finally PUBG Mobile and its developers are listening to their players and making the necessary changes according to them. Now we have a special final boss-type character, which is very much harder to beat than previous PvE bosses. It will surely keep the players engaged with the game. This new addition will make way for more potential story-mode-type items in PUBG Mobile or BGMI.
