To jump straight in, you can catch Lamprey in Disney Dreamlight Valley by fishing in orange ripples within the following areas of Everafter:
Don’t worry if you haven’t unlocked all the map areas in Everafter yet, as you can catch Lamprey in The Wild Woods by fishing in this area’s long river and sole water source. It may take some time for orange ripples to appear, but keep fishing in ripples for a chance for those elusive orange circles to spawn. If you haven’t unlocked the Wild Woods yet, you’ll need 2,000 Storybook Magic to access it.
You can also catch other species of fish and ingredients in the river in the Wild Woods, including

What Is Lamprey Used For In Disney Dreamlight Valley?
One of the core uses of Lamprey in Disney Dreamlight Valley is in cooking. Specifically, Lamprey is a required ingredient in the following Storybook Vale cooking recipes, as listed below:

However, you’ll probably want to catch Lamprey to accumulate more Storybook Magic to unlock more parts of the map, as catching Lamprey is a pretty commonplace Storybook Vale duty. You’ll also need to catch Lamprey in one of the Flynn Rider Friendship Quests called ‘The Company of the Wolf’, where you need Lamprey and several other items to craft a Basic Faerie Snippet Repellent.
