Call of Duty: Warzone drops players onto a wide-open battlefield, where they face fierce competition against other operators dropping into the A.O. Whether it’s racing to victory in Plunder or taking on opponents on the chaotic Area 99 Resurgence map, there is no shortage of action in every match. For those looking to get ahead of the competition, however, equipping the right weapons for the job is essential.

CoD Black Ops 6 & Warzone: How to Get the Buffer Weight Stock
The first Black Ops 6 and Warzone event Hit List introduced the Buffer Weight Stock attachment. Here’s how to unlock it and how it works in-game.
Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns are currently the top weapons in the Warzone meta. However, there are a few underrated weapon categories that players can consider. One such category is the game’s roster of Marksman Rifles, each offering great long-range potential along with a mix of bolt-action, semi-auto, and burst-fire weapons. Here are just some of the best Marksman Rifles to use in Warzone, along with the best builds for them.
1 Kar98K
One-Shot Marksman Rifle With Excellent Handling
Best Kar98K Attachments:
- Range Caller V3.4 Optic (Optic)
- Polarfire S Suppressor (Muzzle)
- Prazisiongewehr 720 Long Barrel (Barrel)
- XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop (Underbarrel)
- 7.92x57mm High Grain Rounds (Ammunition)
The Kar98K is currently the top Marksman Rifle for players seeking a strong alternative to a Sniper Rifle. Its ability to eliminate an opponent with a single headshot or two body shots makes it an especially strong choice. The weapon’s only significant drawback is its limited range, which can be improved with the attachments listed above. The key attachments players should equip are the Polarfire S Suppressor, the Prazisiongewehr 720 Long Barrel, and the 7.92x57mm High Grain Rounds, each enhancing bullet velocity and damage range.
With these attachments, the Kar98K can achieve reliable one-shot headshot kills up to 46 meters, compared to the standard 31 meters. For the final two attachments, players should choose an optic of their preference — ideally one with increased magnification — and the XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop. This improves handling attributes, such as aim-down-sight speed and sprint-to-fire speed. The result is a fast and reliable bolt-action Marksman Rifle, one that is particularly lethal on smaller Resurgence maps like Area 99 and Rebirth Island.
2 Tempus Torrent
Suppressed Rifle With Excellent Damage & Range
Best Tempus Torrent Attachments:
- Corio Eagleseye 2.5x (Optic)
- Chroma LRS (Barrel)
- Schlager Tango (Underbarrel)
- 50 Round Drum (Magazine)
- 7.62x51mm High Grain Rounds (Ammunition)
Next up is a build for the Tempus Torrent, a legacy semi-auto Marksman Rifle known for boasting the best time-to-kill within the 50-meter range. The primary drawback of the Tempus Torrent is its high vertical recoil, which can make it slightly less effective at longer distances. However, the build above mitigates this issue significantly. The essential attachments players should equip are the Chroma LRS Barrel and the 7.62x51mm High Grain Rounds, both of which enhance damage range and bullet velocity while also concealing players from the minimap.
With these attachments, the Tempus Torrent’s hitscan range is extended to 63 meters, compared to the standard 41 meters. Another key attachment is the Schlager Tango, which reduces recoil and improves firing aim stability. For the final few attachments, players have some flexibility. These include an optic of their choice, along with an extended magazine to provide suppressive fire for squadmates or to maintain continuous fire with minimal downtime. The result is an excellent semi-auto rifle capable of eliminating fully-armored opponents in just four shots.
3 DM-10
Fast Firing Marksman Rifle For Medium Range
Best DM-10 Attachments:
|
Optional Attachments With Gunfighter:
|
Moving onto a Black Ops 6 weapon now with the DM-10, another semi-automatic weapon similar to the Tempus Torrent, only its damage range isn’t necessarily the best in comparison. However, when it comes to customization options, the DM-10 can be an excellent option over the Tempus. Essential attachments that players are going to want to use include the Ported Compensator, Ranger Handguard, and the Buffer Weight Stock, each aiming to tone down the weapon’s recoil to make it much more manageable from a distance. Pair this with the Reinforced Barrel, and players are given an effective time-to-kill range of about 53 meters, up from 42.

CoD Black Ops 6 & Warzone: Best LW3A1 Frostline Loadout
The LW3A1 Frostline is a fast and reliable Sniper Rifle in Black Ops 6 & Warzone that becomes even more powerful when paired with the best loadout.
As for the final essential attachment, Rapid Fire is a great pick, and while it often lowers the time-to-kill rate for weapons in Warzone, it increases it for the DM-10. For players running Gunfighter, be sure to throw on a good optic, any extended magazine, along with the Quick Draw Grip to boost that aim-down-sight speed by 24%. The resulting build provides a reliable four-shot kill at most ranges but may sometimes require a fifth shot at long range. It may not be as strong as the Tempus Torrent, but it is definitely a close second.
4 SWAT 5.56
Heavy-Hitting Burst Rifle
Best SWAT 5.56 Attachments:
|
Optional Attachments With Gunfighter:
|
Following the DM-10 is the SWAT 5.56, one of two burst-fire options in the Marksman Rifle category. In terms of raw time-to-kill, the SWAT 5.56 is far from the best option but sits comfortably behind the DM-10, making it the second worst of the Black Ops 6 options beyond 33 meters. Essential attachments that players will want to use include the Ported Compensator and the Vertical Foregrip to smooth out the weapon’s vertical kick, along with the Reinforced Barrel and 5.56 Nato Overpressured Mod to boost bullet velocity.
With these attachment combinations, players are granted an effective time-to-kill range of 38 meters, up from 33. Finishing off the must-have attachments for a five-attachment build is an optic, with the Willis 3x being a great option. For players using Gunfighter, be sure to throw on the Light Stock and Commando Grip for improved handling and general movement speed, on top of an extended magazine. Though not exactly the best Marksman Rifle, it is particularly heavy-hitting at medium range, capable of eliminating an opponent in three burst shots if each bullet within a burst finds its mark.
5 Tsarkov 7.62
High Handling & Mobility Marksman Rifle
Best Tsarkov 7.62 Attachments:
|
Optional Attachments With Gunfighter:
|
Last up is the Tsarkov 7.62, a semi-automatic rifle that, while not boasting the best damage in its weapon category, is a nimble option for players who want to remain fast on the battlefield. Kickstarting the must-have attachments of this build are the Ported Compensator, Ranger Handguard, and Recoil Springs, each mitigating the weapon’s recoil, which is particularly strong when fired quickly. Pairing these options with the Reinforced Barrel boosts the weapon’s hit-scan range to 52 meters, a great improvement from the usual 43.
Finalizing the essential attachments is the Willis 3x, providing players with extra magnification for longer-range targets. While these attachments make for a solid five-attachment build, Gunfighter players should opt for the Commando Grip to improve handling, an extended magazine of their choice, and the Light Stock for the best boost in mobility. While the Tsarkov 7.62 is not exactly the best weapon in the game, it can be a good choice for medium-range engagements.
