All 5-Star Characters, Ranked By Power

All 5-Star Characters, Ranked By Power

Happiness in Genshin Impact lies in getting new 5-star characters, because they are the best when it comes to combat. Getting 5-star characters is likely one of the most notable highlights when playing this gacha game.

It’s always important to remember that the current most powerful unit may be overshadowed by a shinier toy in the future. This is why players should make clear plans for their spending, especially those who don’t spend a hefty sum from their wallets.

Genshin Impact redeem codes commonly come with Primogems rewards that aid in players’ gacha experience.

Updated on November 26, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Powercreeping in Genshin Impact happens slowly as players get to enjoy their 5-star characters for longer durations than other Gacha games. However, that doesn’t mean new 5-stars rarely join the game. Instead, Genshin Impact has one of the most consistent schedules when it comes to releasing new 5-star characters. For that, this list will be updated to fix the ranking of the old 5-star units and include the new ones.

49 Aloy

aloy in genshin impact

Horizon fans who were excited for Aloy sadly have to settle for an underwhelming character with many flaws. Although adored in her original universe, in Teyvat, her ability is impractical and rather weak. Additionally, she has no Constellation to make up for her shortcomings.

Of course, players can make her a decent unit with plenty of effort, but if people were to put the required amount of time and investment into characters who are generally great, they could have gotten a far better unit than an “acceptable” Aloy.

48 Traveler

traveler best weapons in genshin impact

The Traveler is infamous for being mediocre to bad, and in several of their elemental abilities, this is true. On Anemo, they’re simply impractical to use. For Geo, they can be disruptive despite having decent damage potential, and with Electro, they’re overshadowed by Raiden Shogun.

Fortunately, Dendro Traveler is somewhat decent and can be a reliable off-field Dendro enabler. If players rank Traveler solely on this, the protagonist likely would have placed a higher number, but when the entirety of their kit is considered, then the MC is still one of the most underwhelming units in Genshin Impact.

47 Qiqi

genshin impact best weapons for qiqi

As a healer, Qiqi is a decent unit in Genshin Impact. Unfortunately, Qiqi is now considered one of the worst 5-star characters in the game, since she can’t offer anything but healing. Compared to other characters who can do much more while offering the same or better healing, Qiqi really falls in every tier list.

Players must understand what the Nightsoul warriors do to swiftly complete Ichcahuipilli’s Aegis Night’s Trial in Genshin Impact.

When it comes to dealing and applying Cryo damage, Qiqi is also mediocre. Her skill and burst both have long cooldowns, making them impractical and clunky. Moreover, Qiqi has no Energy generation, so she’s generally unreliable. She badly needs a buff.

46 Klee

switching klee out after casting her elemental burst in genshin impact

Klee is a good 5-star Pyro DPS, but she’s far from easy to play. There are many advanced techniques players have to master to use Klee effectively, yet all this effort won’t put her ahead of better and easier Pyro DPS units like Hu Tao and Arlecchino. Because of this, she has to settle on the lower side of the ranking.

45 Sigewinne

genshin impact best weapons for sigewinne-1

Just like the classic healers in Genshin Impact, Sigewinne is a healer who deals damage and heals her team. This combination is bound to be underwhelming compared to the better healers this game has. Not only that, Sigewinne’s damage comes from her elemental burst that she spends a long time casting, which consumes a lot of field time from DPS units that can do much better in that time.

44 Dehya

claymore user dehya in genshin impact

Dehya was hyped for her badass design and attitude, but sadly, HoYoverse somewhat disappoints by making her a character with endless flaws. The Eremite is supposed to be a tanking unit, but her tanking ability is limited, and she also can’t grant reliable resistance to interruption.

When it comes to DPS, Dehya’s Pyro field has okay-ish damage, while her burst is so bad that people shouldn’t be using it to deal damage. It would’ve been bearable if it at least triggered off-field abilities like Xingqiu’s Raincutter, but for some reason, it doesn’t.

43 Tartaglia

tartaglia foul legacy raging tide skill cooldown in genshin impact

Childe is an excellent 5-star DPS in Genshin Impact, especially in AoE cases, but only when his Melee Stance is available. If not, he simply has to sit down and let another character take over until his skill becomes available again.

Tartaglia has a fun battle system where players have to switch between his Melee and Ranged stance to get the most out of him, but his ridiculously long cooldown can throw people off from using him as a main DPS.

42 Diluc

diluc best weapons in genshin impact

Diluc fell harshly from every DPS tier list in Genshin Impact until the release of Xianyun, who gave him an interesting new playstyle. Not only does she shred enemies’ resistance for him, but Xianyun also grants him the ability to plunge attack enemies, which is one of the highest scaling attacks in his kit. Nonetheless, even with the help of some of the best supporters in Genshin Impact, Diluc can’t compete with Hu Tao and Arlecchino.

41 Keqing

keqing best weapons in genshin impact

Although Electro is stronger with the release of Dendro elemental reactions in Genshin Impact, it’s still not enough to push Keqing into the top ranking of the best 5-star characters in the game.

What makes her a fun character, though, is her ability to teleport around the battlefield and zip past opponents with ease. Keqing can also join quick-swap teams because of her smoothness in combat. But other than that, she doesn’t really perform like the other Electro DPS units in Genshin Impact.

40 Cyno

Genshin Impact - Cyno Trivia

Cyno is a selfish 5-star DPS in Genshin Impact who demands players to build the party around him. Without a dedicated team, it’s hard for Cyno to perform or deal damage. Additionally, he also needs a proper Battery to recharge his Energy, otherwise, he’ll be helpless and players will get stuck having to rely on his physical attacks to deal damage.

On the other hand, he can dish out great damage when his ultimate is active, but he can’t be switched out once he enters this state. Fortunately, all the effort and investment put in trying to make Cyno work will be rewarding as he can be a decent DPS in the correct circumstances.

39 Eula

eula best weapons in genshin impact

Eula is especially amazing for the fact that she’s solely Physical and not elemental. Regular players who don’t spend life-savings-worth of cash on Genshin Impact can still expect effortless 6-digits of Physical damage from Eula since she plays around pure power. Unfortunately, Eula suffers from a few stepbacks. For instance, she’s not the best against enemies that are far away from each other, or her Lightfall Sword may explode without hitting anyone.

38 Shenhe

shenhe best weapons in genshin impact

Shenhe’s ranking in the Genshin Impact tier list highly depends on whether or not Cryo characters in Genshin Impact are currently a meta. When Cryo was reigning on top, Shenhe was one of the best Supports, but when Cryo is clouded by other elements, Shenhe loses viability. This is because Shenhe can greatly increase Cryo DPS with her flat damage buff, but that’s where her niche ends.

37 Venti

venti wondering in genshin impact

Venti was the best 5-star Support in the game, and also the best Anemo character. He can easily change the layouts of the battlefield by introducing a vortex that sucks in all enemies, opening them up to stacks of Swirl elemental reactions. His skill also allows him to create updrafts that let players fly and glide and also send enemies up in the air for some crowd control.

When it comes to Genshin Impact characters, the existing varieties aren’t only limited to rarity and Vision. They can also be distinguished by their gameplay difficulties and even building standards, where some Genshin Impact units are tremendously difficult to build, while some others are rather effortless.

Sadly, with heavier enemies being introduced into the game, Venti often loses his viability as he can only pull them and not completely control the opponent into his vortex. In the end, while some of the new Anemo units may outshine Venti in some situations, he’s still one of the best CC and Batteries in Genshin Impact.

36 Mona

mona best weapons in genshin impact

Hydro happens to be one of the best elements in the game. It’s also the most versatile, as players can use it for crowd control with Cryo and DPS with the other elements. Unlike other DPS characters, Mona isn’t a selfish 5-star and can work smoothly with other characters, since you can get her in and out of combat with ease. Her buff is still considered one of the best buffs in Genshin Impact, even if it doesn’t last long.

35 Yoimiya

yoimiya in genshin impact

Plenty of players who were anticipating Yoimiya’s arrival had high expectations since she came after Ayaka, who’s an awesome 5-star DPS carry. Also, some in the community expected Yoimiya to be a Pyro version of Ganyu.

While she didn’t meet some of those expectations, Yoimiya is still a good 5-star Pyro DPS if players can get over her weaknesses. For instance, since she deals the most damage from her last-hit sequence, she shouldn’t be interrupted when shooting her arrows. Additionally, for some reason, she often misses her shots, which can be frustrating.

34 Jean

jean best weapons in genshin impact

Jean’s skillset reflects her personality well. She’s a workaholic and tries to do everything herself. As such, Jean also loves to fill many roles in the party. Her element is Anemo, making her a decent 5-star Support since Swirl helps other elements shine.

On top of that, Jean can also heal, though not as well as the more dedicated healers. She’s perfect for anyone looking to save a character slot in their current party, since Jean can count as both a Support and a healer in Genshin Impact.

33 Tighnari

tighnari-shooting-a-bow-in-genshin-impact-1

Tighnari may be a Standard Banner character, but he’s actually a pretty good 5-star DPS. He has a smooth rotation and can perform brilliantly as a quick-swap 5-star DPS. However, he can’t perform outside Quicken teams as most of his damage comes from Spread reactions. His damage and Dendro application aren’t sufficient in Bloom teams, and he proves to not be viable in other teams as well.

32 Yae Miko

genshin impact best yae miko weapons

In terms of DPS, Yae Miko is a great unit, but in terms of gameplay, she has too many flaws. Yae Miko spends too much time on-field as a Sub-DPS, and each time players unleash her burst, Miko has to replace all the Sesshou Sakura that she lost to maintain her personal damage. This put her at a lower rank, even among some other Catalyst users in Genshin Impact. Other characters usually just press some buttons, and enemies fall faster and easier.

31 Ayato

ayato-kamisato-gameplay-genshin-impact-trailer

Ayato is one of the more notable additions to the Hydro family in Genshin Impact. In fact, he even gives Childe a run for his money because he doesn’t have any cooldown issues and his playstyle is a lot simpler and more accessible. Ayato can play as the Main DPS with his normal attack, but players who simply want Hydro application can also rely on his burst. The head of the Kamisato clan can play in Permafreeze, Taser, Bloom, or even Vape teams, making him one of the most versatile DPS characters in Genshin Impact

30 Albedo

albedo thinking in genshin imact

When it comes to selfless characters, Albedo barely takes any field time in his team. He simply takes the field, casts his skills, and exits, leaving behind a Geo structure that deals consistent Geo damage. Albedo’s elemental burst also boosts Elemental Mastery for his team, perfect for characters that depend on elemental reactions for their damage.
