In Sakamoto Days, the Japanese Association of Assassins, or JAA, has hundreds of assassins across the country. However, the upper rank of these assassins are known as The Order, and they are leagues above any other normal member of the association.
In the timeline of the series, there have been a variety of members of The Order, both from before the beginning of the series and the current roster in the manga as the story has progressed. In order to keep things simple (and spoiler-free), this will be a ranking of the eight Order members that make up the roster when the story begins.
8 Oki
So, this entry is a bit misleading. Oki is the current leader of The Order, and that being the case, there is no way he is the weakest member. However, we have not seen him at all in the story until very recently.
So, we can’t really say what exactly his power is compared to the other characters. We can assume he is on the upper levels of the strongest, but without any actual proof or seeing him do anything besides make claims, it wouldn’t be fair to have him near the top based purely on his position.
7 Kamihate
Kamihate is the greatest sniper in JAA history, according to various sources in the series, including Sakamoto himself. Kamihate has incredible sniping and marksmanship feats, both in the history of the world and in the story we see. He is able to control entire battlefields with a single bullet, and almost nobody can escape death once he has his sights on them.
The main reason Kamihate is not higher is that he is locked into his proficiency as a sniper. Unlike all the other members of the Order, Kamihate has no notable close combat capabilities, although we can assume he has higher than average for an assassin or an ordinary criminal. He might never need to engage in CQC, but every single other member excels in this, whereas he lacks, and even though he is absolutely the best marksman in Japan, most of the other members also have above average skill with firearms, which helps get them on a similar level to Kamihate.
6 Kanaguri
Kanaguri is probably the least likable member of the Order. A tall man with a bowl cut and wearing a film reel as a scarf, he is a passionate filmmaker with wild personality swings, depending on his ability to capture a performance or the state of his camera.

Kanaguri doesn’t see himself as an assassin, of course. He sees himself as a brilliant filmmaker. However, he possesses incredible strength, speed, and stamina. He also uses a clapboard and camera as his weapons, able to decapitate enemies and fire off blasts of energy, respectively. He even uses a film reel to useful effect against his fight with Sakamoto, similar to how Sakamoto makes weapons out of everyday items. He is not the strongest member of the Order, but it is no surprise how he made it on the roster, even if he wishes he wasn’t.
5 Osaragi
Osaragi is the newest member of the Order, being tutored by Shishiba. Osaragi is a pretty, slim, black-haired woman in a black floral dress and veil in the vain of funeral attire. She uses a buzzsaw that she carries in a suitcase, similar to Nagumo and his weapons, which she is able to wield deftly and dangerously.
Like most high-ranking members of the Order, Osaragi has noticeably better than average reflexes, strength, and durability. She mainly uses a buzzsaw to deal damage and finish off opponents, and while she is strong, she is still fairly new to the assassin world and asks a lot of questions of Shishiba, who is mentoring her.
4 Hyo
Hyo is a friend to Nagumo, and we see them together often in the story. Hyo is a large man with spiky hair and piercings who relies on brute strength rather than weapons or advanced assassination techniques like his comrades. He is so strong that, after being magnetized to an MRI machine, he simply walked out with it on his back as if it were a backpack.
Hyo is certainly a tank, being able to both dish out and take on incredible amounts of physical damage. This makes him somewhat limited in his skillset and ability to deal with different types of combatants in the way that other assassins can. However, he would be able to overcome this with pure strength and durability alone.
3 Shishiba
Shishiba is the mentor to Osaragi, and one of the stronger members of the Order. He is a tall man with long blonde hair, an average build, and wears a nice suit. He uses two claw hammers as his main weapons and uses them to great effect, as he is able to puncture, bludgeon, and even block bullets with them. Even without his hammers, he is still one of the deadlier assassins, able to make great use of the environment around him. Shishiba feels like the closest successor to a Taro Sakamoto that the Order currently has.

Like most members of the Order, he has noticeably enhanced abilities, most notably his reflexes, as he is able to do things like dodge Takemura’s katana attacks, which are superhumanly fast, and even Sakamoto and Gaku have trouble dodging them. We also see incredible feats of strength from Shishiba, akin to Hyo in their power level. It doesn’t feel like too much of a stretch to consider Shishiba as the third strongest member of the Order, at least, not considering the potential Oki could have.
2 Nagumo
Nagumo is one of the more popular characters in the series, and it’s easy to see why. He has a cute/handsome design, a sense of humor, is friends with Sakamoto, and is incredibly badass when the need arises. He is also one of the strongest members of the JAA, being part of the three assassins to make the biggest wave at the JCC in a long time (Nagumo, Sakamoto, and Akao).
Nagumo possesses near superhuman levels of speed, reflexes, durability, and strength. He is also an expert marksman, and has a proficiency with bladed weapons. His main tool is his multi-tool, which he carries around in a suitcase, like Osaragi. This weapon is like a Swiss army knife but for bladed weapons, including swords, an axe, a scythe, and multiple other unfolding blades. He is also a master of disguise, able to make himself look and sound like anyone to fool his opponents. Multiple characters, like Slur, the main antagonist, have even said that he believes Nagumo is the second-deadliest assassin in the JAA.
1 Takemura
Takemura is an elderly man who does not speak and walks around with a katana. Jokes are made throughout that he is senile, but he is one of the oldest members of the order for a reason and is considered the strongest member of the JAA. The main time we see him in combat, it even takes five of the strongest characters we know in the series, including Sakamoto and Nagumo, to even hold their own against the old man.
Takemura is incredibly strong and able to use his katana with unparalleled skill and proficiency, able to slice open entire buildings with it. His swordsmanship is unparalleled, and he wields it in an incredibly fast iaijutsu style, which consists of extremely fast cuts that sheathe and un-sheathe the blade during each strike. Even in his advanced age, and sometimes seeming like a senile, mute old man, Takemura is the strongest assassin in the JAA and the Order.
