The Boys Season 5 Premiere Subject Teased

The first page of the script for the premiere of Season 5 has the caption “One. Last. Ride.” The episode, written by Paul Grellong, is titled “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite,” which could certainly refer to any number of things that could happen in the fifth season. It’s possible the title is being literal and there will be actual dynamite, though 15 inches wouldn’t be all that much. More than likely the adult-themed show is referring to something else entirely with the title, especially with the way characters tend to discuss those adult themes in the Amazon Prime series.

The sharing of the script page is just the latest sign that preparations are beginning in earnest for production of one of the most popular streaming shows. Filming is set to begin in Toronto, The Boys cast member Laz Alonso already shared a behind-the-scenes image of the cast reunited for the final season. It’s unclear how long the show will be in production, but fans should expect it to continue until early 2025. Until then, any information on its release schedule will be rather scarce, with an early 2026 release date as the most likely. In the meantime Gen V Season 2 arrives on Prime Video in the summer of 2025. It’s thought that will be a kind of lead in to the series finale of The Boys as it is set before the events of Season 5.

The Boys Season 4 wrapped up with Homelander essentially taking over the United States government and beginning a hunt for Butcher and the rest of his crew. Because of the crackdown, many members of the resistance group went in separate directions with some being arrested and some remaining on the run.

It’s expected that Season 5 will show many final battles between several characters that have been going toe-to-toe over several different seasons. Several Gen V characters were brought into the story in the Season 4 finale and will likely play a bigger part as their story gets fleshed out in the summer spinoff series.

The Boys Season 5 is expected sometime in 2026
