Key Takeaways
- Stalker 2 fans are calling for an extension of the daytime in the game, due to frustration with the short day/night cycle.
- A lot of fans, while finding the nighttime atmosphere enjoyable, also hate how useless the current flashlight feels.
- Suggestions for a fix include lengthening the daytime, or adding new features such as a portable bedroll or night vision goggles.
Stalker 2 may have (unsurprisingly) had a bit of a bumpy launch, but it’s gone down a treat with fans, and is pretty much everything that people wanted from a sequel. GSC Game World has already promised to address some of the more irritating bugs that have plagued launch, but as more people have started to explore the brutal world of Stalker 2, there are some already drawing up wishlists of certain changes they’d like to see.
While the game’s world and NPC system (known as the A-Life) is one of the bigger causes of problems at the moment, there are also quite a few people getting very irritated with Stalker 2’s day/night cycle, wishing that the daytime would last longer than it does right now.
Stalker 2 Fans Want The Day Night Cycle To Be Extended
In a post on the Stalker 2 subreddit, a user called Flushestpoem4 calls on GSC Game World to either extend the game’s daytime, or give players more places to wait for time to pass, claiming they’re fed up with “feeling my way around with the flashlight” during the nighttime. It’s a post that’s got quite a lot of support at the moment, sitting at a pretty impressive 1.8k upvotes at the time of writing, with hundreds of replies in agreement.

Stalker 2’s Buggy Launch Isn’t Going To Matter In The End
Hardcore fans are going to stick with GSC Game World’s sequel no matter what.
Another user called HOTFIX_bryan explains that it currently “feels like daytime lasts 0.03 seconds”, while some are calling for GSC Game World to go as drastic as doubling the amount of daytime we already get. Another common complaint is how horrible the flashlight is too, as while plenty of people seem to enjoy exploring at night and love the atmosphere, the weakness of the flashlight is making things far more irritating than they need to be.
You also have a few people offering up solutions to the problem in the way of new features, rather than extending the day. A user called Aabeast suggests simply adding a portable bedroll you can use to pass time quickly wherever you want could be a quick fix, while night vision goggles are also a pretty popular request. GSC Game World is clearly fixing the game and listening to feedback, so it’s possible if these voices are heard, Stalker 2’s world might get a bit more daytime soon. Fingers crossed anyway.
