New Version of Gran Turismo 7 Could Be Coming Soon

The new version of Gran Turismo 7, titled My First Gran Turismo, was recently rated in Taiwan, implying that it will be released soon. My First Gran Turismo is a free trial version of Gran Turismo 7 designed to “attract diverse players of all skill levels” and evoke nostalgia of the very first Gran Turismo experience.

Released on March 4, 2022, Gran Turismo 7 was released to a strong critical reception, since the game returns to the franchise’s single-player roots. Since launch, developer Polyphony Digital continues to listen to player feedback in order to improve the game and remedy some of the issues that the community had, including server instability and low race payouts. Content updates are released nearly every month featuring new races, cars, and events, with the most recent being Gran Turismo 7 update 1.54 on November 21. While fans await the next content update, new players and lapsed fans will have the opportunity to experience the racing simulator in My First Gran Turismo, which was first announced alongside Sony’s initial PlayStation 30th anniversary plans in September.

A highly anticipated update makes its way into Gran Turismo 7, bringing a lineup of new cars and events, alongside various bug fixes.

My First Gran Turismo was rated this week for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in Taiwan, as spotted by Gematsu on Twitter. The new free trial version of Gran Turismo 7 is planned to release in holiday 2024, but a potential release window can be narrowed down to the next few days since PlayStation’s 30th anniversary date is December 3. It’s worth noting that PlayStation did not reveal a release date for My First Gran Turismo yet, and it’s unclear what the game’s content specifically entails. So far, PlayStation has only confirmed that My First Gran Turismo features cars, tracks and events that should be nostalgic for fans who played the older Gran Turismo games. Since Gran Turismo 7 received a PS5 Pro Enhanced upgrade with 8K support, it’s also likely that the trial version will also have those same features.

Considering Polyphony Digital’s history with previous Gran Turismo titles like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, My First Gran Turismo could also include race events that are reminiscent of those found in its fleshed-out counterpart.

Those who don’t want to wait for My First Gran Turismo can buy Gran Turismo 7 for just $29.99, thanks to limited-time Black Friday sales at Best Buy, Walmart, and other participating retailers. New players gain access to all of Gran Turismo 7 ‘s previously released content from two years’ worth of updates, along with the main campaign. However, players will still need to level up their Collector Level to gain access to Extra Menus, which grant rewards like Roulette Tickets upon completion. Extra Menus are completed by collecting certain cars from the used and new car dealerships.
