King Eitri Deck Synergies

  • King Eitri and Jane Foster draw your booster cards.
  • Thor and Beta Ray Bill are your win conditions. Buff them with the help of King Eitri and Jane Foster.
  • Odin and Grand Master double the power of your win conditions. Dropping them on Mjolnir and Stormbreaker gives Thor and Beta Ray Bill another round of buffs. You can also use Grand Master to add more hammers to your deck.
  • Frigga copies King Eitri or one of the buff hammers to maximize the buff.
  • Blink synergizes with The Infinaut. Drop her on one of your zero-Cost cards to replace it with The Infinaut.
  • Valkyrie boosts Power in the lane with the most low-Cost and low-Power cards. She pairs well with Mjolnir and Stormbreaker to turn them into three-Power cards.
  • Red Guardian is your tech option for protecting sensitive lanes. Alternatively, you can use Armor to protect against Shang-Chi attacks.

How to Play King Eitri

King Eitri is not a complicated card. You play him like any other card with a synergy trigger, similar to Jane Foster. However, to make the most of King Eitri, keep these points in mind:

  • Play him early. Don’t hold onto King Eitri—play him as soon as possible. Keep in mind that playing him after round four is essentially useless.
  • Place him away from your focus lanes. Typically, you’ll need to distribute Power across two lanes, as Thor-Beta Ray Bill lineups tend to grow vertically, not horizontally. Keep King Eitri, a low-Power card, away from your primary locations so you can drop stronger cards like Odin there.
  • Use Frigga to duplicate his effect. There are no Odin-like cards to re-trigger Activate cards’ effects. However, playing Frigga after King Eitri can give you another copy, effectively replicating Odin’s effect. The downside is that Frigga requires you to drop another card, which could clog a lane.

How to Counter King Eitri

The ideal counter to King Eitri is Red Guardian, who can remove Eitri’s text and reduce its Power. However, you can also include standard tech options like Shadow King and Shang-Chi in your deck to disrupt King Eitri decks’ strategies.

How to Get the Free King Eitri Variant

To unlock King Eitri, you need to collect 15 million BUBs during the Deadpool’s Diner event. This limited-time event ends on December 5, 2024, so players have until then to unlock the free card. The required BUBs are based on your lifetime earnings, meaning that losing matches won’t affect your progress toward unlocking King Eitri.

The ultimate prize in Deadpool’s Diner event is the Andrea Guardino variant of Jane Foster, which requires you to accumulate 500 million BUBs.

Is King Eitri Worth It?

As a free card, King Eitri is definitely worth the grind. However, it’s not a must-have for the current metagame. While it can create fun synergies with cards like Odin, Thor, and Beta Ray Bill, there aren’t many “cards that don’t start in your deck” that benefit from King Eitri’s effect. Additionally, as an Activate card, King Eitri is vulnerable to unlucky draws, and if you don’t get him before turn five, he’s essentially useless.
