The Pokemon GO spotlight hour is a special event that happens each week when a certain Pokemon is put front and center. Each week, players will be able to see an increased spawn rate of whatever Pokemon is selected for that week. This week’s spotlight hour is featuring a certain little spider creature, whereas last week’s had two Pokemon for payers to get.
On Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 6 P.M.-7 P.M. local time, players have the ability to catch Joltik and have various other benefits during the event. Joltik will have an increased spawn and catch rate – upon being caught, players will get 3 candies and 100 Stardust. One of the benefits of catching the Pokemon is that players will receive double XP for catching and evolving them. Using a Lucky Egg during the event will be able to increase how many Joltik players can catch as well in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Joltik Spotlight Hour Guide
Joltik is the starter of its evolution out of two, being found to be number #595 and found in the Unova Region within the Pokedex in Pokemon GO. Joltik is classified as a duo Pokemon which means it is a combination of both Electric-type and Bug-type Pokemon. Joltik can evolve into its final form, which is Galvantula for 50 Candies. Players will be able to get this amount of candies pretty quality during the event if they transfer unwanted Joltik Pokemon, as well as the 3 they get already for catching it.
With having a higher CP level, Joltik takes increased damage from Fire-type and Rock-type attacks (160%) and takes reduced damage from Electric type, Fighting type, Grass type, and Steel-type (63%). The best moveset to use with Joltik are Sucker Punch (Normal type attack) and Discharge (Electric Type attack), giving the player 5.94 DPS (Damage Per Second) and a 41.91 TDO (Total Damage Output). The player should also try to use Joltik in Fog and Rain weather for a boosted ability to attack using the weather boost.
Does Joltik Have A Shiny?
Joltik also does have a shiny version, which players can luck up a lot more easily during the spotlight hour, to catch since the spawn rate is heightened. The shiny version of Joltik has the same structure, but the eyes and tops of its feet are purple instead of blue and the body overall is green instead of yellow.
Another important fact that players should keep in mind is that Joltik is a weaker Pokemon and will struggle in Pokemon GO raids. There is no Dynamax version of Joltik at the time of writing. That is everything to know about Joltik and Galvantula during the weekly Pokemon GO spotlight hour.
