Every task gets you closer to filling that star bar, with big rewards waiting as you level up. Ready to climb the star ladder and unlock new tools that break down barriers (literally)? This guide’s got you covered.

What Are Stars?

Stars are the key to unlocking new residents, areas, and tools, allowing you to expand your town and progress in the game. You’ll find your current Star Level and the progress bar at the top left of your screen.

Reaching new star levels will grant you valuable rewards, such as blueprints for new buildings and the tools needed to break through obstacles blocking access to new locations. However, earning stars isn’t simply a matter of time — it requires focused effort to help your Sims and complete key tasks.

How To Increase Your Star Level

To start earning stars, you need to help Commercial Sims and move in Townie Sims.

Commercial Sims are the characters who run businesses in your town, like Poppy, the florist, and her sister, Violet Nightshade, who loves spooky things. Additionally, you’ll find characters like Buddy, the Town Hotel owner, and Patrick Rhino, a retired truck driver hoping for more restaurants in town.

Each task you complete for a Sim rewards you with points that contribute toward filling your star bar. Normal tasks will give you 100 points, but the final task for a Sim rewards you with a larger amount: 200 points. The more tasks you complete for your Sims, the more points you’ll rack up, gradually filling up the bar under the stars.

Once the bar is full, you’ll level up to the next star level.

As you reach new star levels, you’ll unlock useful items to help you explore and expand your town. For example, when you reach Star Level Three, you will receive a pick-axe, which will allow you to break through rock piles blocking the path to previously inaccessible areas, such as the desert. Each new star level you achieve will bring you closer to unlocking new areas and content.
