How to Get Whirlwind Artifact

How to Get Whirlwind Artifact

Whirlwind is an Artifact in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and players may receive a side mission that instructs them to obtain one. Completing that task can be a bit tricky, though, as there is an element of randomness to Artifact spawns. That said, there is a method that will eventually yield a Whirlwind Artifact in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and this guide is here to detail that method.

Players should not expect to quickly obtain a Whirlwind Artifact, even when using the method detailed in this guide.

STALKER 2: How to Get Whirlwind Artifact

Before detailing how to obtain Whirlwind, it is important to provide some general information about how Artifact spawns work. To put things simply, while Artifacts in STALKER 2 have fixed spawn locations, the specific type of Artifact that appears is often randomized.

Fortunately for players who are looking for a specific Artifact, the type that appears is determined as they approach a spawn location. This means that STALKER fans can make a quick save some distance from an Artifact spawn location, check to see what Artifact has appeared, and then reload their quick save and try again if they did not find the Artifact that they wanted.

This save and reload method is the strategy that players who are looking for a Whirlwind Artifact should use, and here is step-by-step guide for fans to follow:

  1. Make a quick save approximately 150m away from an Artifact spawn point that is near gravitational anomalies. There are two such spawn points near Zalissya (one in STALKER 2‘s Ribs and one in Deaf Meadow), and their positions have been marked on the maps that are above.
  2. Navigate to the location and check the Artifact.
  3. If the Artifact is not Whirlwind, load the quick save and repeat Step 2.

As players take these actions, they should encounter a variety of Artifacts and eventually obtain a Whirlwind. It can take quite a while to find the Whirlwind Artifact, though, and fans may ultimately decide that it is not worth their time.

To note, if a STALKER 2 player finds that they are always receiving the same type of Artifact after reloading their quick save several times, they may have passed by the location previously. Indeed, that passing could have caused a specific Artifact to spawn at the location, making it impossible for players to use the method that is detailed above to repeatedly force new types to appear.

If a player finds themselves in that situation, they should take these actions:

  1. Pickup the Artifact.
  2. Continue playing until an emission event in STALKER 2. Those events reset Artifact spawns.
  3. Pursue the method detailed above to get a Whirwind from the reset spawn.
