How To Fish In MySims

In MySims on the Nintendo Switch, fishing isn’t just a hook in the water — it’s your chance to reel in some serious rewards. Whether you’re after Essences to fuel your next big project or just looking to catch a few quirky objects (tires, anyone?), fishing is where the magic happens. But it isn’t as easy as casting a line and hoping for the best.

To snag your catch, you’ll need to work your bobber and experiment with some fishy maneuvers. This guide will help you cast away any confusion and hook the essentials you need for your MySims adventure. Let’s get fishing!

How To Fish

To get started, head to the pond located in front of your house. This is your designated fishing spot where the mini-game takes place. Walk over to the dock and tap ‘A’ to begin the fishing process.

The fishing mini-game involves controlling your bobber with the right joycon. As you cast your line, you’ll notice circular bubbles appear on the surface of the water. To complete a successful catch, move your bobber directly over these bubbles. The key here is timing — when your bobber sinks beneath the water, you should repeatedly tap ‘A’ to reel in your prize.

Sometimes, you’ll need to move the bobber around quickly and erratically. Experiment with different movements to see what attracts the fish and gets them to bite your bobber.

While fishing, you’ll catch different Essences. These essences are essential for various tasks in the game, such as crafting and completing quests. Fishing is an automatic process in terms of collecting essences — once you reel in your catch, the essences are automatically added to your backpack.

Once you’re done, press ‘B’ to exit the fishing mini-game.
