The Cozy Kitsch Kit from The Sims 4 was released alongside the Sweet Slumber Party Kit as one of the first Creator Kits officially published by Electronic Arts. If you were hoping for some mid-century furniture and extra trinkets and clutter, Cozy Kitsch could be for you.

Here are the items that put the fun in ‘funeral’ in The Sims 4’s Life And Death DLC.

To prevent a Google search, kitsch means tacky, specifically for a piece of art or furniture that some people may see as bad taste. The Cozy Kitsch Kit may fit the bill in a way, but the colors and the trinkets that come with the kit are charming and add warmth to any build. So, if you were wondering what was all included in the Cozy Kitsch Kit, we’ve put together a list for you!

8 Seating

The new chair and couch options from the Cozy Kitsch Kit include four new seating options, all of which come in various shades that fit the Kitsch theme. Included are one new couch option, one new love seat, one chair, one pouf chair, and one new dining chair.

All the seatings come in the same shades, except for the dining chairs, which come with a few extra colors. They are all sleek and look quite comfortable, so if your Sims loves a tacky but comfy seat, they may just appreciate these new options.

7 Wall Decor

Also included here are multiple wall decorations with two different kinds of paintings, a neon sign, and a shelf. The paintings are both equally loud but would be perfect for any bedroom or living room.

The neon sign may be one of the most kitsch items in this kit, as it is tacky, but can be appreciated in some way. The shelves are also a good new addition, as you can put collectibles, small decorations, or even dirty plates on them.

6 Faux Fireplace

If you really wanted to add something a bit tacky to your Sims build, these fireplaces would be perfect. They are loud, most of them are checkered, and they really just draw attention. These new fireplaces would be a great centerpiece to spice up any room.

On the downside, these fireplaces don’t actually work. You cannot light them like the regular ones, so this one is purely decorative. You can, however, decorate this faux fireplace with a few small trinkets, so, it’s not completely useless.

5 Cabinets

The new cabinets from the Cozy Kitsch Kit fit the mid-century modern vibe over tacky, though the colors of the cabinets may say otherwise. Each cabinet has its own little decoration of a see-through door with a few books inside.

These cabinets come in three pieces, a left, center, and right cabinet and thankfully, they fit together perfectly, but you can also keep them apart and pair them with something else. They would look nice on their own, but you can also add some clutter on top.

4 Surfaces

There are three different types of tables, which are a coffee table, an end table, and a dining table, available. Like the dining chairs, all the tables have a few extra color options available, which is really nice as they become more versatile this way.

Another great thing about the tables, and really everything in this kit, is it follows the palette chosen for it very well. All of the dining chairs match with the dining table, and the coffee tables match with the different sofas and chairs.

3 Rugs

You cannot finish a build without, you guessed it, a rug. These rugs fit right in with this kit, and may be one of the most kitsch build items on the list. They are checkered on the outside with a rectangular pattern on the inside of the rug.

One of these rugs would go well in front of the faux checkered fireplaces along with a matching, or perhaps a mismatched, sofa or love seat. You could create a cozy but wild-looking living room that will leave all your Sims’ guests second-guessing your taste.

2 Clutter

One of the most fun but tedious parts of building any house or room is clutter. Clutter makes a home feel more lived in, and lucky for you, the Cozy Kitsch Kit adds a few very nice options for clutter that match every other piece of furniture in the kit.

Included are a stack of books with several sitting upright and some lying down, a radio, a set of three candles, a bowl with some fruit in it, and two vases with a flower in one. These are all rather cute options and give a more antique or heirloom feeling to the pack.

1 Lighting

Last but not least, lighting. You cannot see your new fantastic tacky house without some fun lighting. The different lights included are one set of tall floor lamps and three of the same lighting fixtures that all hang down at different levels.

Do not forget to add these light switches to your builds. While they are basically useless, they add a bit of realism, and they will make your Sims feel like maybe someday they will have a choice of what lights to turn on. Plus, you can match them to whatever lamp or light fixture you choose.
