How To Complete Change Your Fate In Disney Dreamlight Valley (Merida Level 7 Friendship Quest Walkthrough)
How To Start Change Your Fate In Disney Dreamlight Valley
After unlocking Merida and completing her level four Friendship Quest called ‘Archery and Archrivals‘, you can start ‘Change Your Fate’ in Disney Dreamlight Valley once you raise Merida’s Friendship to level seven and unlock the following characters:
- Hades
- Mulan
- Moana
- Mirabel
It can take a bit of time to increase Merida’s Friendship but keep giving Merida gifts and her favorite things of the day, and you should soon have a high enough friendship with her to start the quest. Speak with Merida and choose the ‘Change Your Fate’ dialogue option to begin the quest, where she tells you Hades is trying to steal an artifact connected to Clan Dunbroch.
Pick Up The Memory In Merida’s Cottage
The first objective in Change Your Fate is to search Merida’s cottage for a clue. You can find the clue by interacting with the bag between the fireplace and the wooden chair. Pick up the Memory that appears and talk to Merida again.
Find Merida’s Best Friend – A Fierce Warrior Who’s Good With A Bo Staff
The clue in Merida’s cottage says that Merida left something with her ‘closest friend and ally’ in the Valley, who turns out to be a fierce warrior who’s good with a Bo Staff. However, the clue doesn’t reveal the identity of this mysterious Villager, so it’s up to you to work out who it is. Of course, the fierce warrior who’s good with a Bo staff is Mulan, and it makes sense the two characters would be good friends. It’s time to speak to Mulan to get the next clue.
Search For The Next Clue Under The Wing Of “A Giant Flying Horse” And Investigate The Bag That Fell
It seems Merida asked Mulan to hide the clue somewhere she couldn’t find it, specifically, under the wing of a giant flying horse. To find the giant flying horse statue, head near the portal in the Elysian Fields in Mythopia where you unlock Hades and look up to the horse statue on the right, as pictured above. Here, you can see a sparkling object under the horse statue. Take a picture of the mysterious item (from a distance is fine) and speak to Merida. She shoots it with her bow, causing it to drop to the ground. Head towards the bottom of the statue to investigate the bag, revealing the next clue in your Storybook Vale collection, and talk to Merida again.

The next clue is a bit of a head-scratching one that says:
- ‘I left the next clue where the Wolf drinks tea.’
While you might think you need to go to Teapot Falls to figure this out, that’s not the case. Instead, where the Wolf drinks tea is located by the river in the Wild Woods in Everafter. You can pick up another Memory to reveal the next clue around the spot, as pictured above.
Search For The Next Clue In The Library Of Lore – How To “Find One’s Place In The World”
The next clue is also a bit of a puzzling one that says:
- ‘Find your place in the world under the eye of a watchful mother.’
After picking up the clue by the river, speak to Merida, who thinks the watchful mother is the Lorekeeper, and suggests searching The Library of Lore to figure out what’s next. Head to the Library of Lore and into the room up the steps with the Globe. Interact with the Globe to reveal and pick up the final Memory. This Memory shows the last clue, a picture of Clan Dumbroch’s artifact near a waterfall.
Find The Location From Merida’s Memory In The Bind And Obtain Her Family’s Artifact
It’s now time to find the location of Merida’s Memory from the picture and obtain her family’s artifact, which you can find near the waterfall in The Bind. Interact with the bookcase to reveal a secret room with a hidden note on the floor written by Hades, as pictured above. Talk to Merida and then speak with Haydes, who has been up to no good and has stolen the artifact to try and get ahead of The Fates.
Check Inside Hades’ House For The Clan DunBroch Treasure
After chatting with Haydes, search Hades’ house for the Clan Dunbroch family treasure, which you can find near Hades’ throne. Speak to Merida one final time to complete the Change Your Fate quest. Merida gives you the artifact as a furniture item reward, which you can place anywhere in the Valley.
