If there’s one thing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans love more than life itself, it’s grinding for weapon camos. Since the game’s initial launch on Oct. 25, gamers have been hard at work at trying to unlock the Dark Matter weapon camo.
One player took the camo grind seriously enough that they managed to sleep just three hours in order to become the first person to unlock Dark Matter. Again, it’s serious business.

You’re All Taking The Black Ops 6 Camo Grind Too Seriously
Grinding camos in Zombies should be the cherry on top, not a 9-to-5 job.
Because Dark Matter necessitates an absurd number of headshots, among other challenges for each weapon, players have been flocking to Stakeout to make life easier. The small map isn’t short on skirmishes and offers ample opportunity to rack up the necessary stats.
With so many players actively voting to play on Stakeout as opposed to other maps, Treyarch has decided to give into the camo grinders by creating a Stakeout 24/7 playlist. In a tweet shared Monday, Stakeout 24/7, along with Double XP and Prop Hunt will be coming to the game on Wednesday.
Stakeout Had Become A Meme
As one Call of Duty fan on Reddit joked over the weekend, the over reliance on Stakeout had been driving fans nuts. Whenever the map became available to be voted on, it would instantly shoot up to the top. If it wasn’t an option, players would often back out.
“People just play stakeout for the grind, like shipment for the last few CODs,” one user wrote. Meme aside, one user shared what the experience often looks like the minute that Stakeout becomes available.
Now, that experience should hopefully be trending in the opposite direction. Those who want to grind on Stakeout will have a dedicated playlist, thus leaving everyone else to enjoy the game as intended, with a variety of maps.
