The Most Expensive Union Arena Cards From From UE02: Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter is one of the longest and most popular manga series of all time, so it’s no surprise that it was welcomed as one of the first two sets in the Bandai card game, Union Arena. The game features popular manga, anime, and gaming series as unique booster sets that you can utilize to create decks from your favorite media franchise.

10 Kurapika (SR) – $17.55

The Most Valuable SR Card In The Set

Kurapika is one of the best cards in the Hunter x Hunter set, bar none. This card can immediately remove a character off the board with its menacing Snipe ability. Plus, with Impact, Kurapika can damage your opponent’s life count by one point after defeating a character.

This card is only an SR, not an alt art, but being a part of one of the best decks and the main reason why the deck is even viable, this Kurapika is sure to keep its value for a while.

With how many Kurapika cards are available in the Hunter x Hunter booster set, it’s no surprise to find a couple of them on this list. This R one-star alternate art of Kurapika is the one that can gain Impact as long as you have a character with 5,000 in your field.

If you’re looking to play the green Hunter x Hunter deck, then this card is a must-have, as it will be your main damage dealer with how many BP buff the deck can conjure.

Besides a killer effect, Kurapika’s art on this card is fantastic. It features the lone survivor of the Kurta Clan, with his powerful Judgement Chain already deployed and his fearsome Scarlet Eyes staring back at you.

What’s one more Kurapika to add to the list? This one is the alternate art of the first SR Kurapika that comes with an inherent Impact ability. Although the art is relatively the same as the regular version, this one has a snazzy gold foil etched into the background.

Luckily, since the art doesn’t have much of a variation, it’s really up to you whether you want to spend the extra money on some foil or not. But if you want to play a max rarity deck, you’ll have to dish out some serious cash.

Just like Illumi, Chrollo, the leader of the Phantom Troupe, is an excellent card for purple decks. This card also features the signature of the voice actor, Mamoru Miyano.

The signature cards are quite hard to find if you’re simply ripping loose packs, so your best bet in finding Chrollo is probably to buy a case or two, which will equally set you back as if you were to buy the singles. It’s all in luck’s hands, so star crossing those fingers!

It’s obvious that one of the poster boys for Hunter x Hunter would be one of the most expensive cards in the set. This Gon Freecss card, apart from being meta-relevant and one of the most important pieces in the green HxH deck, is downright gorgeous, with a similar signature to all the other chase cards in the set.

The jolly and fun best boy will be a prized possession for a ton of collectors and fans of the series.

Love him or hate him, Hisoka is easily one of the most popular characters in the Hunter x Hunter series. Not only is he an infamous character, but his voice actor, Daisuke Namikawa, is just as iconic, harboring some of the most prestigious roles in voice acting, like One Piece’s Eustass Kid and Haikyuu!!’s Toru Oikawa.

This signature card is one of the most expensive, but it’s also one of the prettiest. Not only does it include the coveted signature, but the floating cards of the former Phantom Troupe member look absolutely stunning in gold foil.

2 Killua Zoldyck (SR**) – $317.59

Whether you prefer Killua or Gon, you probably know that the Killua fanbase is quite large and is willing to fight for their sweet baby boy. But are they willing to pay a premium for this gorgeous signature-etched card?

This card is quite expensive, but it is worth every penny. Killua is holding his signature skateboard while posed next to Mariya Ise’s signature, and she even drew an adorable heart next to it. Just make sure you get his buddy Gon to pair with, unless you’re a strict Killua-only collector.

Hunter Language On A Card? Sign Me Up!

This is one of the more unique chase cards in all of Union Arena. Rather than his voice actress’ signature, this card has Gon’s name spelled out in the unique alphabet from the series. It may look like a bunch of random doodles, but the symbols have a direct translation to Japanese katakana and hiragana.

The art is the same as the other Gon cards, albeit with a different color scheme, but as the one three-star card in the set, this one is sure to drain your funds.
