That includes upgrading weapons and gear so that you’re able to withstand every challenge the developers can throw. Here’s how to do just that.

Stalker 2 Upgrade Weapons Guide
There are multiple ways to upgrade weapons in Stalker 2. The first and perhaps simplest is to visit a technician. Technicians are NPCs in this game that only exist to repair and upgrade weapons and armor. You can usually find Technicians in Stalker settlements like Zalissya. There are plenty available right from the launch of the game.
The first technician you can find is Lens, who is found in the building to the right of Hamster’s shop in Zalissya. It is by the vintage car parked on the roof. After talking to him, or any other NPCs like this, you can access the upgrade menu.
Once you’re in the upgrade menu, you can upgrade weapons in Stalker 2 by clicking the white nodes that appear on your gear. This will reveal which upgrades you can even do right now. After that, you can purchase it from there, and you can also refund it if you need to.
It is important to remember that some upgrades are professional. You can’t get certain ones until you’ve purchased the prerequisite. Also, some upgrades prevent others from being applied, so read carefully. Be sure to pick the upgrades you want and check everything that’s available before making a choice.
For example, the Rubber Coating upgrade is required for Valik Lummox’s AKM-74S. This has to be purchased before you can upgrade the barrel any further. Unfortunately, you can’t upgrade the barrel with Extra Barrel Rifling and the Return Mechanism Sleeve Tightener, so choose wisely.
You can continuously do this throughout the game as you progress. Your weapons and gear will not remain the same, as upgrades are available for as long as you continue playing Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Stalker 2 is available for Game Pass subscribers.
