A major factor in Skyrim’s success is its character customization, which lets players build their Dragonborn according to the playstyle they want. One can go the tried and tested sword and shield warrior route or plow through Skyrim with their fists using an unarmed build. Despite the diverse character classes a player can create in the game, there’s one lethal archetype that some always come back to, and it’s worthy of a callback in The Elder Scrolls 6.
Skyrim doesn’t have a solid class system. It lets players choose their character’s race and build their stats, perks, and equipment however they want. Not long after the game’s release, players started to create and follow certain archetypes, with one of the most popular ones being the Stealth Archer. This build lets the player deal big damage to opponents without even being noticed. With the right items and perks, the build can be borderline overpowered, which is why many players have tried it out at least once in their playthroughs. As such, there should be a tribute to it in The Elder Scrolls 6.
Stealth Archers take advantage of
Skyrim
’s Sneak Attack mechanic, which lets players deal double their regular damage when they attack enemies while undetected. This multiplier goes up to three times when the player unlocks the Deadly Aim perk and launches their attacks using a bow.

One Change to The Elder Scrolls 6’s Dungeons Would Be a Godsend for Replay Value
The Elder Scrolls 6 can make its dungeons much more replayable by taking a new approach to designing them compared to previous games.
The followers in Skyrim are quite handy when it comes to combat. The Armored Troll from the Dawnguard expansion is a formidable tank that one can use to absorb boss damage, while Cicero’s sneak abilities are great for players who like to go on stealth raids on enemy camps. There’s also Serana, whose vampire necromancy can recruit dead opponents to help the Dragonborn out in a fight. If The Elder Scrolls 6 has a follower system, it can include a Stealth Archer character as a Skyrim reference.
An Elder Scrolls 6 Stealth Archer Follower Should be a Member of the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild
The Stealth Archer in Skyrim is relatively simple to build. They don’t need any fancy spells, and their best equipment can be obtained from two well-known factions: the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. This is because their boots offer muffled footsteps.
Each faction also has certain items that favor the Stealth Archer. The Dark Brotherhood’s Ancient Shrouded Cowl offers a 35% damage increase for bows. Meanwhile, the Nightingales, the elite inner circle of the Thieves Guild has a powerful bow that’s excellent for stealth attacking and kiting enemies with its frost and shock damage enchantment.
It would be especially interesting to have a Nightingale follower like Karliah in The Elder Scrolls 6. She’s been through a lot in the events of Skyrim, facing betrayal from one of her closest Thieves Guild members and escaping death multiple times. She’d probably still be around during the events of TES 6 with her long lifespan as a Dark Elf. The player could catch up with her and talk to her about what she’d been through after Skyrim in between sniping enemies from afar.
A Dark Brotherhood Stealth Archer would be a great companion too, as they can also provide some lore about how the faction recovered after they were seized by the Penitus Oculatus during the events of Skyrim. Having a Stealth Archer companion in The Elder Scrolls 6 could be one of the best ways to pay homage to Skyrim. Apart from providing a tribute to one of its predecessors’ most beloved builds, it also offers a bunch of lore drop opportunities for Skyrim fans to enjoy.
