Key Takeaways

  • Season 7 of Diablo 4 will introduce witchcraft powers, including the ability to summon explosive frogs.
  • New witchcraft powers can heal, damage, and disrupt enemies, earned by completing Whisper bounties and fighting Headrotten enemies.
  • Quality of life changes in Season 7 include new Unique items, an Ancestral item drop rate increase, and the long-awaited Armory feature.

Diablo 4 will add explosive frogs with the start of the seventh season. Following the broadcast of yet another Campfire Chat, the Diablo 4 devs confirmed a plethora of content coming to the game in the coming months, including the introduction of witchcraft powers.

One of the biggest contents of Season 2, Diablo 4 added vampiric powers that gave players powers such as reducing cooldown by 20% or causing additional damage to frozen enemies. With the start of Season 7, Blizzard’s action RPG will add a similar system in the form of witchcraft powers, which are divided into Eldritch, Psyche, Growth and Decay, and lost powers. Each of these witchcraft schools will give Diablo 4 players a chance to experiment with different skills, expanding their characters’ potential.

Although the frogmancer is not one of Diablo 4‘s classes, players will be able to summon explosive frogs in Season 7. Using the witchcraft power called Poison Frog Servant, this skill from the Growth and Decay school summons a frog that attacks and poisons enemies for three seconds. When the frog dies, it explodes and deals instant poison damage to nearby enemies. At level 5, the creature gains an additional effect, with its attacks pulling enemies towards it and taunting them for one second.

Diablo 4 to Explore the Mysteries of Witchcraft in Season 7

According to Blizzard, the magic of the Growth and Decay school can damage or heal, increase life and resources, and create disruptions and diseases. To unlock this and the other attacks, players must first learn Witchcraft by completing new Whisper bounties, earning seasonal reputation. The next step will be to defeat Diablo 4‘s new enemies called Headrotten, earning Restless Rot. By visiting the Coven Altar in the Tree of Whispers, players can use Restless Rot to exchange for new witchcraft powers or improve the ones they already have.

Witchcraft powers are only part of what awaits players in the seventh season of Blizzard’s RPG. Diablo 4 will add new Unique items for each of the game’s classes, including the Spiritborn. Players can also expect quality of life changes, such as the addition of the Paragon experience to the Eternal Realm, and the increased drop rate of Ancestral items. Another much-celebrated change is the introduction of the Armory, addressing a request that the Diablo 4 community has been making since the game’s launch. With it, it will finally be possible to create loadouts, making it much easier to manage builds.
