Here’s a complete walkthrough for the Yuweyawata Field Station, a level 100 Dungeon in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail.
In addition to having exclusive mounts and minions, participating in Faux Hollows is an excellent way to earn the new long-sought-after Minions such as the Corgi or Pterosquirrel! While it won’t have a significant payout in terms of experience like filling out your Wondrous Tails Journal, the rewards are still worthwhile and worthy of your time.
Updated on October 2, 2024, by Seth Parmer: After a hiatus, Faux Hollows is finally back in action via Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail’s 7.1 “Crossroads” update. This update added new items you can purchase with your Faux Leafs, as well as a new Unreal Trial that you must complete to participate in the event. You can find all the information regarding the changes and additions to Faux Hollow below!
Unlocking Faux Hollows
Due to Faux Hollows being a late-game event, there are a few prerequisites you need to take care of before gaining access to it. First, you will need to be at least Level 80 with any Disciple of War or Magic and have the MSQ “Shadowbringers” completed. With that out of the way, you will also need to accept and finish the quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs,” which is how you unlock Khloe’s Wondrous Tails.
Once you have the above completed, you can then head to Idyllshire and speak to the Painfully Ishgardian Man (X:7.0, Y:5.9) to receive the Level 80 quest “Fantastic Mr. Faux.” Speak to the Faux Commander to finish the quest and gain access to the Faux Hollows.
While you need to be a minimum of Level 80 to gain access to Faux Hollows, you will actually need to be Level 100 to participate in it, as that’s the synced level of the current Unreal Trial. You can find more information on the Unreal Trial below!

How To Play Faux Hollows
Every week, after completing the current Unreal Trial, you can speak with the Faux Commander in Idyllshire (X:5.7, Y:6.1) to try your chance at the Faux Hollows Board. The Faux Hollows Board consists of 36 tiles that may contain illustrations hidden underneath them. Your goal is to flip over eleven tiles in an attempt to recreate any of the three images pictured on the right side of the board.
The catch isn’t that you only have eleven chances to recreate an image but that some of them may not even be present on the board to begin with. Three possible illustrations can be on the board at any given time, and we will explain all three below!
Illustration Type |

Medium Illustration |
One of the two Medium Illustrations will always be on the board. |

Large Illustration |
The Large Illustration will always be on the board. |
Retelling
While the Large Illustration does offer the least amount of Faux Leaves out of the bunch, it will always reward you with a “Retelling.” This allows you to tackle the current Unreal Trial once more and try your hand at the Faux Hollow Board an extra time before the weekly reset. Aiming for the Large Illustration is recommended, as you can use your additional tile flips to potentially uncover a Medium or Small Illustration and pocket more Faux Leaves.
Faux Leaves
Every Illustration will reward you with Faux Leaves, which act as a currency of sorts you can exchange with the Faux Commander for goodies such as mounts and minions. However, keep in mind that the more rare and sought-out items will cost a good bit of Faux Leaves, making it essential to keep on this event every week. If you’re curious about what you can obtain with Faux Leaves, head to the section below!
Faux Hollows Rewards/Exchanges
After racking up many Faux Leaves by participating in the Faux Hollows event week in and out, you can exchange them for rare and even exclusive rewards. These rewards range from minions and mounts to outfits that will have your Warrior of Light looking fabulous. You can find every available item and what they cost in the table below!
