The Model L is one of Black Ops 6’s harder-hitting assault rifles. While it doesn’t fire particularly quickly, each round packs a serious punch and experiences minimal damage falloff. Throw on the right attachments, and this weapon can three-tap players from across the map or become a highly accurate AR with virtually no recoil.

Today, we’ll examine two builds for the Model L that maximize its potential. One is a Multiplayer build for general use, perfect for stealth play or grinding camos. The other is more focused on objective play and, with a few tweaks, an excellent option for Zombies.
Multiplayer Model L Build
Model L Build | ||
---|---|---|
Attachment | Pros And Cons | Advanced Stats |
Volzhiskiy Reflex (Optic) | ||
Suppressor (Muzzle) | ||
Vertical Foregrip (Underbarrel) |

Quickdraw Grip (Rear Grip) | ||
Recoil Springs (Fire Mod) |
|
The Model L hits like a truck but has a moderate degree of recoil, so this build focuses on making the gun as accurate as possible. We start with Recoil Springs to reduce all recoil by roughly 10%. This makes vertical recoil quite manageable, but horizontal recoil deviation is still an issue. Fortunately, we can fix this with a Vertical Foregrip. Both attachments work together to make this gun have virtually zero recoil.
Iron sights aren’t great on the Model L, so you’ll want to throw on any optic as your third attachment, preferably the Volzhiskiy Reflex sight. Use the Quickdraw Grip for a significant ADS boost and a Suppressor to stay off enemy radar. If you’re playing Warzone or hate reloading, drop the Suppressor for a larger magazine.

Any suppressed weapon should ideally be paired with the Recon specialty, mainly due to the strength of Ghost. So long as you’re moving, you won’t appear on enemy radar. Ninja is a good option as well if you want to flank or play one-life modes. Otherwise, we recommend a blue perk in column two and Flak Jacket as your Perk Greed option instead.
Vigilance is mostly used to trigger Recon’s set bonus, but it is useful for ignoring enemy CUAVs. If you run Ninja, use Fast Hands in the second column for near-instant weapon swap times. Flak Jacket users should use Tracker instead to mark targets mid-gunfight, allowing you to track them through walls if they escape.

This build also works well in Zombies.
The strongest attachment on the Model L is the CHF Barrel, allowing this weapon to three-tap enemy players in Multiplayer if you can land two headshots. You can achieve some absurdly short TTK values with this gun if your aim is true, but the CHF Barrel greatly increases the Model L’s recoil. Fortunately, we can fix that with some attachments.
To make the weapon usable at longer distances, you’ll need the Compensator muzzle, a Vertical Foregrip, and Recoil Springs, which are ideal for a slow-firing assault rifle like this. An optic is also needed to remove the gun’s bulky iron sights. You can technically use the gun with just these five attachments, but we suggest throwing on the Gunfighter Wildcard to get a few more attachments on here:
- Target Laser: Greatly delays the Model L’s aim idle sway animation, making it easier to win long-range gunfights and 1v2s.
- Extended Mag I: Makes it easier to kill multiple opponents before reloading.
- Quickdraw Grip: Reduces the time to aim down sights.

We recommend the Strategist Specialty for this build since we aren’t using a suppressor. Flak Jacket is practically mandatory in Multiplayer, Fast Hands is great for quickly swapping weapons, and Guardian makes defending objectives significantly easier. Throw on some Stims for instant HP regeneration and War Cry for a brief surge of movement speed and HP recovery.
