Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl throws a lot of dangerous situations at the players, but none come even close to an Emission. It doesn’t matter if you’re out on the field gathering loot, completing a quest, or in a firefight with enemies, as soon as you hear a warning about an emission, you’ll need to seek shelter. Emissions occur randomly; if you don’t find one before the storm hits, it’s game over and any unsaved progress will be lost. So, let’s check out how to survive the Emissions in Stalker 2.

How to Survive Emissions in Stalker 2
Players first get introduced to the Emission during the “A Race Against Death” objective during the “Behind Seven Seals” main mission in Stalker 2. After the mission, Emissions will become a recurring occurrence, which are anomalous storms that release a burst of excessive energy onto The Zone. When that happens, players will be required to seek immediate shelter, or they’ll die in the open.
How do You Know when an Emission is About to Hit?
When players are resting in a settlement or exploring the toxic wastelands of Stalker 2, they’ll receive an emergency transmission from Strider informing everyone that an Emission is about to occur.
After the transmission, players will have only a few minutes before the sky turns red, and the storm hails down in the Zone with full force. Players will have to drop everything and make a break for it to the nearest shelter to survive the Emission. If they don’t, the release of energy that accompanies the Emission will quickly deplete Skiff’s HP, killing him where he stands.
What is a Viable Shelter to Survive an Emission in Stalker 2?
There are dedicated Emission shelters across the map, especially in the named bases like Zalissya that are marked with a main mission icon when an Emission hits. However, due to the limited stamina of players, they won’t be able to make it to them most of the time.
So, if you can’t make it to an Emission shelter, players can choose to hide in any building, house, basement, or cave with solid walls. The main idea is hiding in a location with solid walls and a roof over your head so it can withstand the force of the Emission. Players can confirm if they’re inside a viable shelter when the mission objective “Get to a shelter,” is marked as complete.
Hiding in a shelter for approximately 2–3 minutes will help players successfully survive an Emission in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. They’ll get confirmation when Strider sends out a transmission that the Emission is over.
Being inside a desolated house with broken walls, roofs or windows won’t be able to protect you from Emission. Make sure to check for the mission status that pops up during an Emission to see if it’s marked as complete.
