Although discovering new collectibles is often part of the fun, you might struggle to get Salt Crystals in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s The Storybook Vale, as these can be an elusive ingredient to find. Of course, it’s often in the simplest places where things are easily missed, and here’s everything you need to know to find Salt Crystals.

How To Get Salt Crystals In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Fishing for Salt Crystals in the Wild Woods in Disney Dreamlight Valley The Storybook Vale DLC

To get right to it, you can find Salt Crystals by fishing in water anywhere outside of circular fishing ripples within the following areas in Everafter:

  • The Wild Woods
  • Teapot Falls
  • The Fallen Fortress
  • The Beanstalk Marshes

As long as you aren’t fishing inside white, blue, or orange circles, you should be able to fish out Salt Crystals from rivers or other water sources in the above Everafter locations relatively quickly, such as the river in The Wild Woods. However, Salt Crystals can take time to spawn for some players. They could also be easily missed, as it’s sometimes easy to forget that it is possible to find fish and other resources or ingredients outside the usual fishing circle spots. Catching Salt Crystals essentially works similarly to catching Seaweed or Plastic Scrap, which you also catch in non-ripple spots.

What To Do With Salt Crystals In Disney Dreamlight Valley

While you might casually come across Salt Crystals when fishing in the Vale, you’ll most likely encounter Salt Crystals for the first time after unlocking Flynn Rider. Finding Salt Crystals is an objective in Flynn Rider’s level four Friendship Quest called ‘Memory Lane,’ where you need to get five Salt Crystals, alongside several other things for Ursula’s Potion.

However, the primary use of Salt Crystals in Disney Dreamlight Valley is for cooking, where they are categorized as a Spice or Herb in the Collection Menu. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Salt Crystals make a great addition to pickled recipes due to their preservative properties, but are also a necessary ingredient in several of Storybook Vale entrée cooking recipes, such as the following:

  • A Very Unusual Tea Time
  • Arcane Garlic Crab
  • Salt-Baked Sea Wolf
  • Salt-Pickled Cauliflower
  • Caprese Salad
  • Grecian Baked Fish
  • Salt-Pickled Garlic
  • Salt-Pickled Green Beans
  • Salt-Pickled Radicchio
  • Salt-Pickled Radish
  • Salt-Pickled Sea Grapes
  • Shovel Bird Eggs Benedict
  • Soda Bread and Feta
