There are a multitude of animals to take care of in Farming Simulator 25, but one of the simplest animals to manage is bees. While cows, sheep, chickens, and other animals require some form of upkeep, bees keep themselves alive, and are basically a passive bonus for you to make use of.

We look at growing, tending, harvesting, and selling grapes in Farming Simulator 25.
While bees are simple to keep around, making the most of having bees on your farm requires planning, and various amounts of investment, depending on what exactly you’re looking to do with your bees. But if you do it right, your bees will be up and going in no time, and you’ll be reaping the rewards.
Why Keep Bees?
Bees have two massive benefits, one active and one passive. Actively, bees produce honey. This honey can be sold on its own for a profit, or it can be used to create cereal, which we’ll get into further on in this guide.
Bees can also increase the yield of certain crops, which is going to net you more money when the time comes to harvest.
Beehives
There are five different types of beehives available, each with its own shape and size. Bigger beehives are going to house more bees, and net you a bigger benefit, both in honey and improved crop yield.
Beehive |
Price |
---|---|
Beehive (1 Langstrom Hive) |
€500 |
Beehive (4 Langstrom Hives) |
€1500 |
Beehive (33 Langstrom Hives) |
€3000 |
Beehive Round |
€2700 |
Beehive Old |
€250 |
Beehive And Crop Placement
Beehive placement is going to depend on your crop placement. Ideally, you’re placing your beehives near fields where you intend to grow the crops that bees are going to increase the yield of. These crops include:
Beehives near these crops will automatically provide a yield bonus on the nearby fields, so there’s nothing for you to do once they’re built.
Collecting The Honey
You can only place one beehive honey pallet collector per farm. This is going to automatically collect the honey from the bees, and store that honey on a pallet.
You’ll want to place this somewhere that small vehicles can easily access because you cannot lift these pallets of honey by hand. However, this does not have to be near any beehives; bees anywhere on the map will deliver to it, no matter where it is.
Equipment Needed For Collecting Honey
Most people are going to want at least need two things for collecting honey, and for delivering that honey for sale or processing: a forklift, and a pickup.
Item |
Price |
---|---|
Lizard Pickup 2017 |
€45,000 |
Jungheinrich EFG S50 (Forklift) |
€55,000 |
Stema Trius (Trailer / Optional) |
€9,500 |
All the equipment above can be found in the Transport category of the store, under the Packs section, and while you don’t necessarily have to have these exact items for this job, these are relatively inexpensive options, and do the job very well.
You’re going to need the forklift to carry the pallet from the honey collection area to the pickup truck; once it’s loaded with honey, you’ll need the pickup truck to carry the honey to the delivery zone. Depending on the amount of honey you want to transport at the same time, you might want to invest in a trailer that’s capable of hauling more honey at once.
You can use the forklift to transport the honey without the pickup, but it’s going to be much slower, and you’ll only be able to carry one pallet at a time.
Selling Honey
The easiest option for dealing with honey is selling it as is. This is very straightforward and only requires a little bit of transport to manage. You can wait until you’ve got a bit of honey saved, so you don’t have to make trips as often, because honey produces quite fast.
This is going to net you some consistent income, but it’s not going to generate as much money as the second option.
Processing Honey In A Cereal Factory
You can also process honey into cereal in a cereal factory. Honey is far from the only thing you’ll need for that, but it is one ingredient necessary for the process. Other ingredients you’ll need for making cereal include:
Ingredients |
---|
Chocolate |
Corn |
Long Grain Rice |
Oat |
Raisins |
To have a successful cereal-producing venture, you’re going to need an ample supply of all of the above ingredients, and it’s a process that’s going to take time to fully invest in. But, it’s going to net you quite a bit more money than selling honey alone.
Cost Of Beekeeping
The cost of beekeeping is going to be variable, depending on what exactly your goal is. At the entry level, the equipment for collecting honey costs around €100,000, and a beginner supply of beehives themselves is going to cost a few thousand, putting the initial cost in the area of €110,000.
If you’re looking to produce cereal, that cost is going to be much higher, with the cereal factory alone costing €240,000. That’s not counting all the separate supplies you’re going to need, not just for the honey; farming all the various crops and processing them is initially going to cost north of €500,000.
