Key Takeaways
- Xur returns to Destiny 2 with new gear for players to check out, including exotics, legendaries, and other resources.
- For weapons, Xur has Riskrunner, a new Hawkmoon roll, Monte Carlo, and the Black Talon.
- Armor this weekend includes Sanguine Alchemy, The Bombardiers, Mask of the Quiet One, and the return of exotic class items.
Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Act 2 has finally arrived for Destiny 2, bringing with it the next chapter of the Episode Revenant story. However, Bungie also released a substantial update for Destiny 2, fixing various issues with activities like Onslaught: Salvation, Vesper’s Host dungeon, Crucible, and more.
The midseason update also rebalances and buffs many abilities and supers that are largely being ignored by players. Specifically, Destiny 2 roaming supers are now more damaging and faster to recharge than before. Storm’s Edge, a popular new Arc super for Hunters, has also been nerfed slightly, as it has become largely a go to super for both damage and ease of use. Bungie has also tweaked a number of exotics, including Telesto, which has a long history of breaking the game.

Bungie teases an upcoming exotic mission for Act 3 of Episode Revenant leading to a new shotgun with a very unique firing and reload style.
Speaking of exotics, the weekend merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of November 22, 2024.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there’s no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley is to the right, where Xur is standing.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur’s Exotic Armor
Sanguine Alchemy – Warlock chest armor
Exotic Perk:
- Blood Magic – While standing in any rift, damaging a target will mark it. You deal extra damage to marked targets, and gain additional bonus damage with weapons that have a damage type matching your equipped Super. Weapon final blows while standing in any rift pause the rift’s countdown, extending its duration.
After recently being updated in Episode Revenant’s Act 1 update for Destiny 2, Sanguine Alchemy is a bit more viable now than it once was. It’s not likely to overtake any popular in-meta exotics, but it’s worth a look to try out.
Stat Values (65 Total):
- Mobility +11
- Resilience +3
- Recovery +20
- Discipline +15
- Intellect +6
- Strength +10
The Bombardiers – Hunter leg armor
Exotic Perk:
- Parting Gift – Dodging leaves behind an explosive that detonates after a short delay, damaging targets around it and creating a secondary effect based on your Super’s element.
Generally not considered one of the better Hunter exotics, the roll this week is pretty low making this a very hard item to recommend in any capacity.
Stat Values (61 Total):
- Mobility +13
- Resilience +7
- Recovery +8
- Discipline +14
- Intellect +17
- Strength +2
Mask of the Quiet One – Titan helmet
Exotic Perk:
- Dreaded Visage – Grants ability energy when you are damaged. While you have a Void super equipped, rapid final blows and final blows while critically wounded grant Devour.
Again, not an exotic that’s in high demand right now, the Mask of the Quiet one is a solid one thanks to its ability to generate ability energy and also provide a way for the user to regain health through Devour. HOwever, keep in mind that it requires the Void subclass to take advantage of all these bonuses.
Stat Values (67 total):
- Mobility +16
- Resilience +8
- Recovery +12
- Discipline +12
- Intellect +2
- Strength +19
