8 Twenty-Fifth Baam’s True Identity

The Child Of Destiny

baam

  • First mention: Chapter one

Most people know Baam as the protagonist who ventured into the Tower searching for his best friend Rachel, but it seems he was destined for this life long before he made that decision. Baam is another agent of the Outside God, like Enryu and presumably Phantaminium, sent to destroy Zahard’s empire due to the injustices he perpetrated against Arlen Grace and V, amongst others.

What’s more, he is the child of Arlen and V, whom Zahard killed to spite and break them after they contested his decision to become King of the Tower and lost. Arlen offered the child to the Outside God who led her outside the Tower, and now the child is back to topple the Empire.

7 The True Nature Of Shinsu

Life Force Of The Tower

Tower of God - Character Interacting With Shinsu

  • First mention: Chapter one

In the Tower, Shinsu is synonymous with life as it exists within all living organisms and is essential for survival. Living beings, whether High Rankers or Regulars, will die once they run out of Shinsu as it serves as their life force and the atmosphere from which they breathe. Surprisingly, the whole existence of Shinsu is tied to the Tower, and it does not exist anywhere in the Outside World as it is said to be emitted by the Tower itself.

This mysterious substance has many forms, and it can be utilized in numerous ways to attain many things, including eternal life and manipulating the power of the elements. As such, Po Bidau Gustang, the head of the Po Bidau Family and one of the Ten Great Warriors dedicated his life to the research and systematic study of Shinsu, hoping to understand its true nature and better ways to put it to use.

6 How Irregulars Enter The Tower

A Mystery As Old As The Tower Itself

Jue Viole Grace – Tower of God Season 2 Episode 18

  • First mention: Chapter one

Irregulars, as everyone knows, are people who were not selected by Headon from the Middle or Outer part of the Tower to ascend it, but instead, found their way into the Tower from the Outside World. As such, these characters are usually chaotic because they did not pass through Headon’s selection process for Regulars.

The most powerful characters in the series are Irregulars or their descendants, and there are numerous theories on how they find their way into the Tower. Some suggest the Tower opens its gates to Irregulars based on its needs, while some say that the Irregulars force the gates open with their will, and as such, do not need Administrator contracts to control Shinsu.

5 Headon’s Purpose

An Administrator Unlike Any Other

Headon tower of god

Each floor in the Tower has an administrator who oversees the activities that go on there. These administrators cannot visit another level, as it is out of their jurisdiction. Except for Headon, that is. He doubles as a recruiter who scouts people fit to enter the Tower, called Chosen Regulars, and he does this by teleporting to the outer Tower and the middle area of the other floors.

He has shown clear bias toward Rachel and conspires with Yu Han Sung, the Test Director on the 2nd Floor, to help her ascend the Tower. His reasons for any of his actions are largely unknown, but it is said that he has a grudge against Baam. Despite Administrators being unable to do so, he may be interested in eliminating Baam, despite playing a part in helping him pass the test that admitted him into the Tower in the first place.

4 The Workshop

Responsible For All Creations In The Tower

  • Location: 30th Floor, Archimedes

The Workshop is responsible for most of the creations in the Tower, ranging from living weapons to massive ships, Beastkins to prisons. It is an organization within the Tower created by the Great Father Macseth, but according to him, it also exists in the world outside the Tower, with no one knowing how it originated, and it is merely an extension.

Macseth’s vision for The Workshop is to uncover the secrets, the order, and the reason behind every creation in the world, as he believes that by doing so he can learn how to recreate everything in the world, and therefore become the god of all creation. There is a branch of the Workshop on every floor, but there are only seven headquarters, with the one on the 30th floor being the most notable, as it is known for hosting the Workshop Battle every five years.

3 The Outside World

What Goes On Beyond The Tower?

TheOutsideworld

  • Location: Outside The Tower

The world that lies outside the Tower is vast, and so little is known of it except that it is where irregulars come from. Shinsu, which makes up the atmosphere inside the Tower, is nonexistent outside of it, and for that reason, those on the outside breathe in air. Inhabitants of the Tower, and even irregulars, do not know any methods of exiting the Tower, but there are some rumors that Po Bidau Gustang might have an idea. The only person known to have left the Tower is Arlene Grace, who did so with the body of her deceased daughter.

According to the legends, she was only able to leave with the help of the “God” who rules over the outside world after offering her child to it. All of the weapons used in the Tower are also inspired by those from the outside that Zahard and his companions brought with them when they entered.

2 The Top Of The Tower

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

The Tower

Although it is common knowledge that Zahard’s army “conquered” the Tower, it is also known that the Tower does not end at the 134th floor, where Zahard stamped his authority. It is said that there is a 135th floor with a very formidable guardian that prevents the current Lord of the Tower from progressing further.

Tower of God Returns Stronger Than Before

With a fresh new look, more dynamic animation and a running start to the story, Tower of God seems ready for a much better second season.

What lies at the top of the Tower is unknown, but it is said that those who manage to reach it will have their wishes fulfilled by “God.” It is also said that it has an open top with a view of the actual sky, not the shinsu construct that can be seen on each floor. As such, anyone who reaches the top will be able to see the stars, which will appeal to Rachel.

1 Phantaminium’s Identity

The Walking Mystery

Phantaminium TOG

Phantaminium is the first in terms of ranking and is the strongest character to ever set foot in the Tower. He is an irregular and is also an axis or reality editor (which explains his immense power), but no one knows about it. He earned the alias Riddle because no one knows his identity or motivations, as he seems to have only entered the Tower to infiltrate the palace and massacre the Zahard family’s High Rankers, all before disappearing once again.

This earned him the top spot in the Tower, as most of the people who saw him either died or lost their sanity from fear. As a result, there is very little public knowledge about him. The weapons and fighting style he employed had never been seen before inside the Tower. The stereotypes about irregulars being nothing but trouble also began after Phantaminium’s little showcase of power.
