Farming Simulator 25 provides a multitude of intricate tools and machinery to make your agricultural experience as unerringly immersive as possible. If you know or want to know about the profession, these machines deliver the sense of hyperrealism you’re likely looking for. Of course, you can’t buy all of them because of a finite budget, leading you to make tough choices initially.

We look at growing, tending, harvesting, and selling grapes in Farming Simulator 25.
Your focus—whether on crops, animal husbandry, or forestry—will shape your choices and prioritize specific machines for you. Each branch demands specialized tools, especially given the wide variety of in-game crops and livestock. That said, giving precedence to explicit machinery in the early-game phase can give you a strong headstart, and there are definitely some highlights in between.
You can find new machinery at the
Vehicle Store
located on the map. Furthermore, this list only includes beneficial yet optional equipment, which you should purchase depending on your core focus.
8 Forestry Harvester
Used For: Forestry
- Purpose: Removing dead trees.
Deadwood contracts are few and far between in Farming Simulator 25, but they pay well and are extremely easy to do. Thus, a forestry harvester specializing in cutting down trees is a simple, independent tool for the job. Unfortunately, it’s worth noting that these machines are incredibly slow, so the process, albeit straightforward, is time-consuming.
Generally, you don’t need to be a forestry expert to remove deadwood, so getting a cheap forestry harvester is sufficient. The John Deere 843L-II is a solid candidate that can cut and even move trees. For €310,500, it’s a bit pricey, but you can always lease it for completing contracts.
7 Fertilizer Spreader
Used For: Crops
- Purpose: Adding fertilizers to crops to improve yield.
At first glance, fertilizing feels tedious and inconsistent across different crop types. Still, the excess yield and revenue they generate, regardless of the crops you apply them on, is substantial, massively boosting your progress and farming opportunities. This is where fertilizer spreaders come into play — they’re the most common equipment for yield improvements.

GPS isn’t quite what you might think in Farming Simulator 25, but trust us when we say it’s better.
These spreaders are impressively cheap and can fit into most budgets. Among these, the ZA-TS 3200 is more than qualified for applying your fertilizers in the earlier stages. However, as you progress and enter bigger fields, you’ll want to switch to the K105 because of its larger capacity and ability to also spread lime.
If you take care of several animals on your farm, you should instead get a
slurry tanker
. This machine uses slurry, a byproduct mainly from animals, to fertilize fields, so you’ll save some money by not purchasing fertilizer from an external source.
6 Wood Transport
Used For: Forestry
- Purpose: Transporting tree logs.
Similar to Deadwood, transporting wood is another niche but rewarding job in forestry. All you have to do is load some logs and drive a few miles, and you’ve made yourself a quick €10,000 with minimal effort. This is yet another contract type that anyone can do, but naturally, you can’t do it without proper wood-transporting equipment.
For these contracts, you can get a log trailer or a complete logging truck, depending on how much you want to explore forestry. The trailers are fairly affordable, but you only get one truck option, the FH16 RUL-HKR, which is competitively priced but not as universal as tractors.
5 Animal Transport
Used For: Animals
- Purpose: Transporting animals.
Although you can sell animals directly from your pastures, the income is considerably lower, making the whole ordeal unattractive. As such, animal transport is a crucial process in animal husbandry, since you can now sell your livestock directly at the animal market.

Here’s how to grow and harvest rice in Farming Simulator 25.
To keep it simple, selling your animals on the market increases profits and removes the need for special animal-keeping facilities. The only downside is the lower convenience because transportation takes time. However, with animal transport machinery being so cheap, like the Fliegl Noah TTW 140 truck costing a mere €25,000, you can easily recoup the money spent on purchasing this equipment.
Used For: Crops
- Purpose: Harvesting sugar beets.
Sugar beets are, by far, the most profitable crop in Farming Simulator 25. With a massive yield and return, they’re the ideal crop to sell in both early and late-game phases. However, they need special equipment, particularly during harvest, which is why you should purchase a beet harvester with a beet header as soon as possible.
With this harvesting equipment, you’ll be set to grow the best money-generating crop in the game. For specific machinery in each category, it’s best to get the 2720 Harvester Scrub and 3750 Defoliator as your early-game tractor-powered options. Both offer a decent capacity and speed, making your harvest quick and convenient.
If you want to focus more on harvesting sugar beets and have enough cash, buy the
Terra Dos 5-40
harvester and
RR-XL 9×45
header.
3 Spinach Harvester
Used For: Crops
- Purpose: Harvesting spinach.
Sugar beets have the highest profit margins of any in-game crop, but you can’t rely on them alone. If you find yourself outside their planting or harvesting season, you should try harvesting spinach, another extremely popular crop that beats out well-established root crops like potatoes. However, since it’s not a regular crop type, you’ll need exclusive machinery to grow them.

There’s only one spinach harvester in the game, the MXB-4TR, and it comes with a hefty price tag. Buying one of these behemoths will set you back €635,000 — more than the beet harvester and its header combined. As such, this equipment is only viable for avid crop growers who see themselves growing spinach perpetually.
The MXB-4TR can only harvest spinach!
2 Trailer
Used For: Crops
- Purpose: Transporting crops and other processed goods.
For the final step of your crop-growing journey, you must load your crops onto a reliable trailer and deposit the harvest. Players tend to use the default trailer for this purpose, but upgrading it early on has a notable perk: time efficiency. Carrying more yield in a single go saves a healthy chunk of time and effort.
The Fliegl ASW 271 is a perfect trailer for the job—it carries every crop type in the game and is the only trailer that functions as a manure spreader. Its multifaceted functionality makes it a top-notch choice, and for just €52,000, it’s practically a steal.
1 Mowers
Used For: Crops And Forestry
- Purpose: Cutting overgrown grass.
There’s a reason why mowing contracts are so popular in Farming Simulator titles — they’re among the game’s easiest and most well-paid jobs. You barely need any backhand knowledge, and the satisfaction of cleaning a field is just too good. The core machinery for this task is a mower, which is cheap and easy to use.
Out of the eight available mowers in Farming Simulator 25, you should invest in the KUHN GMD 8730-FF. Despite having a modest weight and power requirement, it has the second-best maximum speed and the third-best cutting width. Compared to other mowers, it’s a bargain with an exceptional return on investment.
